On September 27th, the Year 11 and 12 DSE and DP students from UISZ embarked on a day trip to Hong Kong to visit two prestigious universities – The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
9月27日，UISZ11年级和12年级的DSE和DP学生踏上了香港一日游之旅，参观了两所著名大学–香港大学（HKU）和香港科技大学（HKUST）。
The first stop was HKUST, where the students met with university representatives and student ambassadors. The ambassadors gave an informative presentation about the different academic programs offered at HKUST, as well as the entry requirements for both IB and HKDSE students. The students were then taken on a tour of the campus, culminating in a visit to the famous atrium with its stunning view overlooking Clear Water Bay. The UISZ students also had the opportunity to connect with recent alumni from the 2024 and 2020 graduating classes, allowing them to ask important questions about the university application process from students with first hand experience.
第一站是香港科技大学，学生们在那里会见了校方代表和学生大使。大使们向学生们介绍了科大不同的学术课程，以及国际文凭（IB）和香港中学文凭（HKDSE）学生的入学要求。随后，学生们参观了科大校园，最后来到著名的中庭，俯瞰清水湾的迷人景色。UISZ的学生们还有幸与来自2024届和2020届从UISZ毕业的校友进行了交流，让他们有机会向亲身经历过的校友询问关于大学申请过程的重要问题。
After enjoying lunch at the HKUST canteen, the group made their way to HKU. At HKU, the students were given the opportunity to learn about the new programs offered by the university, such as the Dual Degree program and new data-driven programs being introduced in response to the growing demand for data science professionals under the global landscape of economic development. The students were also given a full tour of the entire HKU campus, including the university’s visitor center and a quick stop to take a group photo in front of the famous HKU sign.
在科大食堂享用午餐后，学生们前往香港大学。在香港大学，学生们有机会了解该校开设的新课程，如双学士学位课程，以及为应对全球经济发展对数据科学专业人才日益增长的需求而推出的新数据驱动课程。学生们还参观了港大的整个校园，包括访客中心，并在著名的港大标志前合影留念。
Overall, this day trip offered the UISZ senior students a chance to learn more about the academic and campus life at two of Hong Kong’s most prestigious institutions. The interactions with university representatives, current students, and recent alumni were undoubtedly beneficial in helping expose our students to the university application process as well as the opportunities that these universities offer beyond their degrees.
总之，这次一日游为UISZ的高年级学生提供了一个了解香港两所最负盛名学府的学术和校园生活的机会。与大学代表、在校生和近期校友的交流无疑对我们的学生了解大学申请流程以及这些大学提供的学位以外的机会大有裨益。
