G.3- G.5 Halloween FlexBoarding Event: Last Wednesday, our Grade 3 to Grade 5 students enjoyed a spooktacular Halloween FlexBoarding Event in the Boarding House! The evening was filled with festive games, creative costumes, and plenty of Halloween fun—all in a safe and joyful setting. It was wonderful to see so many students engaged, laughing, and making memorable moments together. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the night a success!

ASIA Business Simulation: This week, our Grade 3–5 students took part in the exciting introduction to the ASIA Business Simulation. This is a dynamic event that will be hosted right here on our UISZ campus, welcoming teams from schools across the region. Don’t forget: the registration deadline is October 31st! Participating teams will have the opportunity to compete locally, with top-performing groups advancing to the prestigious Harvard Crimson Business Competition (HCBC) Global Finals—an international showcase where students from around the world present their business acumen and innovative ideas. It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop real-world skills and represent our school on a global stage!

Robotics and Coding: Our K–K2 students have been enthusiastically exploring the foundations of coding, thoughtfully integrated into their current UOI. Through playful, screen-free activities and age-appropriate tools, they’re developing early computational thinking skills while reinforcing their understanding of sequencing, patterns, and counting. We’re thrilled to share that new educational robots for Primary have arrived, paving the way for the launch of our Robotics ECA in the upcoming ECA season! This exciting addition will offer students hands-on opportunities to build, code, and collaborate. Looking ahead, our school plans to host friendly in-house robotics tournaments and will also participate in the ACAMIS Robotics Tournaments in Guangzhou, giving our young innovators a chance to showcase their skills on a broader stage. Stay tuned—there’s much more to come in our growing robotics journey!

New Units: Teachers across the PYP have been enthusiastically diving into the launch of new units of inquiry, and it’s been a joy to witness! With creativity and purpose, they’ve designed engaging entry points that spark curiosity and invite students into meaningful exploration. Each introduction is carefully crafted to connect with students’ interests while aligning with central ideas and lines of inquiry. The energy in the classrooms is palpable: students are asking thoughtful questions, making predictions, and collaborating with excitement, while teachers delight in seeing their learners light up with wonder. These unit launches aren’t just lessons—they’re invitations to think critically, explore globally, and grow as inquirers, setting a strong foundation for the learning journey ahead.

D10 Students Attends Asia Business Simulation Competition Info Session
This Wednesday during the morning assembly, our D10 students gathered for the information session on the Asia Business Simulation Competition. As the host of this event, our school will hold this major academic business competition at the UISZ Campus on November 8th and 9th. During the session, students showed keen interest and anticipation. This will be the first large-scale academic competition for them since joining our school. We wish them great success in gaining valuable experience and achieving excellent results!
D10年级参加阿思丹亚洲商业模拟大赛宣讲会
本周三晨会期间，我校D10年级同学齐聚一堂，参加了阿思丹亚洲商业模拟大赛的宣讲活动。作为本次赛事的主办方，我校将于11月8日至9日在增城誉德来校区承办这一大型商科学术竞赛。宣讲会上，同学们展现出浓厚的兴趣与期待，这也将是他们入学以来首次参与的大型学术竞赛，预祝他们在比赛中积累经验、斩获佳绩！
Halloween Themed Activity Brings Joy
On Wednesday evening, DSE teachers and students came together for the annual Halloween-themed party. Meticulously planned and organized by the Student Council, the event saw students dressed in various creative costumes, actively participating in activities like “Trick-or-Treat,” “Haunted House Adventure,” “Pumpkin Carving,” and themed photo sessions. The atmosphere was vibrant, with everyone building camaraderie through games and adventures, while also admiring each other’s creative outfits. The finale, featuring a bonfire party and marshmallow roasting, attracted enthusiastic participation from many students, perfectly ending a night filled with laughter and joy.
万圣节主题活动欢乐上演
周三晚间，DSE学部师生共同迎来了一年一度的万圣节主题派对。活动由学生会精心策划组织，同学们身着各色创意装扮，积极参与“不给糖就捣蛋”、“鬼屋探险”、“南瓜灯雕刻”及主题拍照等环节。现场气氛热烈，大家在游戏与探险中增进情谊，互相赞赏彼此的造型创意。活动尾声的篝火晚会与烤棉花糖环节更是吸引众多同学踊跃参与，为这个充满欢声笑语的夜晚画上圆满句号。
D12 Students and teachers Attends Guangzhou University Fair, Boosting Further Education Planning
This Friday, our D12 students and teachers visited the UISG Campus to participate in the annual Guangzhou University Fair. Hosted by the UISG Campus, the fair brought together over 100 renowned universities from 15 countries, including several institutions ranked within the top 50 of the QS World University Rankings. Admissions officers were present to provide students and parents with the latest enrollment policies and admission guidance. Many parents also participated actively, gaining deeper insights into admission trends and helping lay a solid foundation for their children’s future academic and career development.

本周五，D12毕业班师生前往誉德来白云校区，参加一年一度的广州秋季国际大学展。本次活动由白云校区主办，汇聚了来自15个国家的100多所知名高校，其中包括多所QS世界排名前50的高等学府。各校招生官亲临现场，为同学与家长提供最新的录取政策与升学指导。许多家长也积极参与，深入了解升学动态，为学生未来的学业与职业发展奠定坚实基础。

Midterm Exams for D10 and D11 Grades Approach
Next week, students in the D10 and D11 will take their midterm examinations for the semester. Recently, subject teachers have been guiding students in systematically reviewing the exam scope, key content, and question formats, while also providing additional support for challenging topics. As the first school-wide major exam this semester, the midterms aim to assess students’ learning progress. We encourage all students to prepare diligently with a positive attitude, manage their time effectively, maintain a healthy balance, and approach the challenge with honesty and confidence, striving to perform to the best of their abilities.
D10、D11年级期中考试即将举行

ASDAN Business Simulation ASDAN商业模拟挑战赛
On Wednesday, MYP students attended a presentation about the upcoming ASDAN Business Simulation that is being hosted at UISZ. This is an opportunity for students from Grades 3-10 to create a team and learn the process of running a business. Further information about this event will be shared with our parents on ManageBac in due course.
周三，MYP的学生们参加了关于即将在我校举办的ASDAN模拟商战的说明会。这个活动将为3-10年级同学们提供组建团队、学习企业运营流程的宝贵机会。我们后续将通过ManageBac平台向家长们发送详情信息。
Halloween Boarding Event “万圣节”住宿活动
On Wednesday evening, our amazing Boarding team held a Halloween flexi-boarding event. The Boarding student leaders also put in a lot of work to pull off an event that was incredibly fun for all involved. Activities included a haunted house, pumpkin carving, a campfire with marshmallow roasting, and so much more. The trick-or-treating students had an impressive and creative range of costumes, and a lot of candy was consumed – a mark of a successful Halloween.

Summative assessments are now complete, and teachers are preparing reports ready to go out on Friday, October 31st. These interim reports are a great snapshot of where our students are at this point of the year.

We will have our Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences on Friday, November 7th. This is a great opportunity to focus on each student’s learning and to set goals together to ensure their continual progress in a given subject. As Secondary-aged students, it is important for your child’s voice to be part of this process. To get the most out of the conferences, please encourage your child to also attend.

In preparation for these conferences, and to ensure that students take an active role in these conversations, we will be using the Advisory period that week as a chance for students to reflect in a guided manner on each of their subjects and on their learning goals. They may wish to bring this resource to the conferences to aid the discussions.
