My name is Janet He, and I am a graduate of the UISZ DSE program for the Class of 2025. I am also a candidate for this year's Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination. I chose to take the HKDSE program because I hold a Hong Kong identity card, which allows me to apply to universities in Hong Kong through the JUPAS system. Compared to other international programs, the DSE provides me with a more direct and strategic pathway for further education, especially aimed at my goal of studying in Hong Kong.
As a DSE teacher, I had the honor of accompanying our students to Hong Kong on April 1st and 2nd, 2025, for the Chinese Language exam. During those two intense days—traveling, waiting and witnessing the exam process up close—I wasn’t just there as a teacher, but as someone who got a real taste of what it feels like to be a DSE candidate. I saw the nerves, the focus, the quiet determination, and I felt the weight of it all alongside our students.
We began the term with a fantastic house meeting where we warmly welcomed two new boarders into our Dragon House family. During the meeting, we emphasized the importance of maintaining strong life skills such as room cleanliness, personal hygiene, physical well-being, and a good work ethic.
