Chinese New Year is a vibrant and joyous occasion, and this year, our Early Years wolf cubs made it extra special with a day filled with exploration, learning, and celebration!
A Day of Discovery on Shamian Island
Our adventure began on the beautiful Shamian Island, where we immersed ourselves in the festive atmosphere. The streets were alive with colourful decorations, lively performances, and the warm smiles of people celebrating the New Year. Our little ones were filled with excitement as they observed the various traditions and festivities happening around them.
The Landmark Hunt
The fun kicked off with a statue landmark hunt. Armed with keen eyes and curious minds, the children set out to explore the area. They eagerly noted the different colours, sizes, and structures of the landmarks, developing their observational skills while enjoying the beauty of their surroundings. It was a fantastic opportunity for our wolf cubs to share their discoveries and engage in conversations about what they saw and heard.
A Dance to Remember
The final stop of our adventure was at AIO, where our talented students showcased their Chinese New Year dances. The energy was infectious, and the excitement was palpable as they performed for their friends and families. Another highlight of the day was meeting Cai Shen Ye, the Fortune God, who graciously distributed Hongbao (red envelopes) filled with blessings and good wishes. The joy on the children’s faces was a testament to the magic of the celebration.
Cultivating Global Citizens
Through this enriching experience, our students are not just learning about a cultural celebration; they are becoming global citizens. They are gaining a deeper understanding of diversity and the beauty of different traditions. The memories created and the friendships strengthened during this special day will stay with them for years to come.
As we reflect on our celebration of Chinese New Year, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to learn, explore, and grow together.
Happy Chinese New Year
