Dear UISG Community,
I hope this message finds you well and that you have had a wonderful week. As we look ahead to the next few days, I wanted to share some important updates and highlights.
First and foremost, we have been closely monitoring the weather and upcoming typhoon alerts. Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the best experience possible for our students, the secondary camps for Grades 6–10 have been postponed. We will communicate new dates as soon as they are confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we prioritize the safety of our community.
Despite this change, we have a fantastic week of learning and activities planned. Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead:
- Monday at 9:00 AM in the Admin Hall, there is a parent session focused on “Thriving in the DP” for Grade 12 families.
- On Tuesday, parents are invited to a Cultural Exchange Fun Workshop in Room B508 from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM.
- Wednesday morning features U11 Basketball games starting at 9:00 AM, with the boys’ team hosting at UISG and the girls’ team competing at CISGZ.
- Thursday is a busy day, beginning with the G1-3 Swim Gala from 8:20 AM to 9:55 AM. This is followed by Parent Power-Up Sessions: one for Grades 4-5 on Understanding a UOI from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, and another for Grades 1-3 on the same topic from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM. The morning concludes with the G4/5 Swim Gala from 10:30 AM to 12:05 PM.
A special note regarding trips: The Grade 11 trip to Beijing is still on track for a Monday departure from Guangzhou. We are excited for this group of students to embark on their adventure.
We are looking forward to a week filled with learning, growth, and community spirit. As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Daniel Mullen

Spirit week has been so fun this week. I’ve seen so many more students getting involved and having fun with the dress up and activities. A particular highlight (or lowlight!) was the teacher/student football match. Sorry students, but teachers took that one!

September 22 – 26 (Week 7A)

School Spirit was on full display this week, with dress ups, entertaining activities, and music in the atrium. Although guided by teachers, this was a student-led event, with the Student Council and House Captains taking charge and helping to make it a success. This kind of student agency helps build the confidence and decision-making skills essential for leadership. When students practice initiative and responsibility, it directly prepares them to guide and inspire others. Well done to those student leaders.
Welcome Picnic
Another opportunity for students to get involved was the Family Picnic last weekend. Whether it was student-run booths, service activities, student performances, or student support teams, it was great to see so many Secondary students taking part.
