On the afternoon of 21st January 2025, as the Year of the Snake drew nearer and nearer, UISG Secondary students gathered together at the MFH to join in a wonderful Chinese New Year celebration, an occasion suffused with an atmosphere of joy and blessings, which provided an audio-visual feast for the teachers and students participating. The proceedings began with a heartfelt and warmly received New Year’s speech by the Head of the Secondary, which expressed good wishes to all for the New Year and set a warm and joyful tone for the whole event.
蛇舞新春至，祥龙旧岁辞。2025 年 1 月 21 日下午，在蛇年新春的脚步日益临近之时，广州誉德莱外籍人员子女学校中学部洋溢着浓浓的喜悦与祝福，精心组织了一场精彩纷呈的新年庆典活动，为师生们带来了一场视听盛宴。盛典在广州誉德莱外籍人员子女学校中学校长诚挚且精彩的新年致辞中拉开帷幕，传递着对新一年的美好期许，为整个活动奠定了温馨而欢快的基调。
巳巳如意｜ 蛇我其谁 鼓
The students, dressed in gorgeous traditional Chinese costumes, acted as cultural ambassadors and took the lead in presenting a lively and moving Chinese drum performance. The sound of the drums was thunderous and majestic. Every beat seemed to pound out a sound of hope for the New Year and inspired the hearts and minds of all who were there. After the exciting drum performance, a powerful golden dragon danced onto the stage, with the splendour of a rainbow. Its agile movements signified hope and good luck in the Year of the Snake.
学生们身着华美的中国传统服饰，化身文化使者，率先带来激情四溢的中国鼓表演。鼓声雷动，气势磅礴，每一次敲击，似敲响新年希望之音，振奋人心。激昂鼓点之后，矫健的金龙舞动登场，气势如虹，灵动身姿寄寓着蛇年吉祥如意的祈愿。
The music of the guzheng, piano, violin and harp flute ensemble unfolded like a gorgeous scroll. The harmony of the notes, vividly portraying a deep fusion of Chinese and Western cultures, illustrated the depth of this cultural exchange. The classical piece ‘Jasmine’ played by the String Quartet introduced the audience to a fragrant musical wonderland with its harmonious melody and floral motifs.
悠悠琴音起，古筝、钢琴、小提琴与竖笛合奏的乐曲，如绚丽画卷徐徐展开。音符交融，是中西文化深度碰撞的生动写照，尽显文化交流的博大精深。弦乐四重奏乐团带来的经典曲目《茉莉花》，婉转旋律携丝丝花香，将观众带入芬芳仙境。
The dance performances were spectacular. The dancers performing ‘Sending the Moon’ were light and graceful, each movement full of strength and beauty, inspiring those watching to pursue their dreams with courage and stride forward purposefully in the New Year. Japanese students from year 6 and year 9 danced to the drum beat of an energetic Ryukyuan song. Through the sound of the music, a panorama of Okinawa’s mountains and seas almost seemed to emerge, a poetic vista of blue sea, verdant forest, and white sand, capturing the romance of the island. Every beat plucked on the heartstrings of the audience, winning round after round of applause. The dance ‘Wakawaka’, with its unique and lovely choreography, instantly lit up the atmosphere in the hall, and its cheerful rhythm had the audience in fits of laughter.
舞蹈表演精彩纷呈。《寄明月》中的舞者们的身姿轻盈曼妙，每一个动作都充满了力量与美感，激励着在场的人勇敢地追逐梦想，在新的一年里砥砺奋进，不断前行。六年级与九年级的日本学生，和着鼓点，随着活力琉球的歌曲起舞。乐声中，冲绳的山海自然风光如诗浮现，湛蓝的海，葱郁的林，洁白的啥，满是海岛的浪漫。他们每一个节拍都踩在观众的心弦上，赢得了阵阵热烈的掌声。而《Wakawaka》的舞蹈则以其独特的可爱风格，瞬间点燃了现场的气氛，欢快的节奏让观众们忍俊不禁，欢声笑语此起彼伏。
The singing performances were brilliant too. The familiar melody of ‘Congratulations’ instantly amplified the happy and enthusiastic New Year atmosphere, as if the hall were transformed into a lively marketplace, overflowing with joy and blessings. In ‘It’s Better Not to See’, the singers interpreted the delicate emotions conveyed in the song exquisitely, fully demonstrating the unique charm of Cantonese song.
歌唱表演环节同样精彩纷呈。一曲《恭喜恭喜》，那熟悉的旋律瞬间将大家带入了热闹非凡的新年氛围中，仿佛置身于热闹的集市，处处洋溢着欢乐与祝福。在《不如不见》之中，演唱者们将歌曲中的细腻情感演绎得淋漓尽致，充分展现了粤语歌曲独有的魅力。
Towards the end of the programme, the students sang with gusto. The chorus of ‘Good New Year’ sounded out like a golden wind sending a message of joy and New Year blessings. The clear and melodious voices of the students were a fitting finale to the proceedings, animating the audience and bringing vivid colour to the final moments of the celebration.
临近节目尾声，同学们满怀激情，引吭高歌。大合唱《新年好》的歌声响起，宛如金风送喜，传递着满满的新春祝福。那清脆悦耳的歌声，仿佛让万物都焕发出勃勃生机，让这美好的时光更加绚烂多彩。
