Graduation Ceremony
In a dazzling display of elegance and glamour, the Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony and Banquet brought the magic of Hollywood to life, leaving guests and students enchanted amidst a warm and cozy atmosphere. Saturday, May 25 will forever be remembered as a day of pure joy and celebration in style. The event was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Big Ballroom for the ceremony and dinner that brought lovely memories and joy for students, family, and guests that followed the Class of 2024 event theme.
From the moment guests stepped onto the red carpet, they were transported into a world of enchantment. The venue, exquisitely adorned with twinkling lights and golden accents, set the stage for an unforgettable evening. Every corner breathed the essence of Hollywood’s golden age, immersing attendees in a realm of timeless sophistication.
The UISG Secondary Chamber Orchestra played and delivered a wonderful arrangement for “Pomp and Circumstance” as the whole community welcomed our students during their graduation processional with music, laughter, tears and love.
Ms. Kati Santibanez, Y12 Head of Year, led the ceremony, welcoming teachers and guests to the podium. Among them, UISG DP Coordinator, Mr. Kyle Gray, Ms. Dorothy Wong, UEF Chair, and Mr. Martin Grist, Head of Secondary.
Special Awards were also the highlight of the evening where six role-models from the Class of 2024 received recognition in the areas of UEF Special Recognition, Global Citizenship, Athletics, Arts, Valedictorians and Top Scholar Awards, which gave parents and students a moment of pride and joy.
Our Top Scholar, Catherine Ng, delivered a touching and entertaining speech summarizing her academic and social life at UISG. Congratulations!!
The Class of 2024 also welcomed and enjoyed the Commencement Speech given by Mr. Bastian Ciocca, Entrepreneur and Founder of Hope and Sesame, to the Class of 2024.
Our cohort has three splendid piano musicians that delivered wonderful pieces to the audience that showcased their talents as they played “Hewig’s Theme” by J. Williams, ‘Feather in Dreams” by Shinji Orito, and “Clair de Lune” by Claude Debussy.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of diplomas as our 50-student Class of 2024 received their certificates with pride and emotion that reflected their effort and dedication to the IB program along with the traditional tassel ceremony.

But it was not just the stunning décor that captivated hearts. The banquet itself was an extraordinary culinary journey, uniting cuisines from all corners of the globe. Each dish was a masterpiece, carefully crafted to tantalize the taste buds and ignite a sense of wanderlust. From mouthwatering delicacies to exotic flavors, the banquet surpassed all expectations, leaving guests in awe of the culinary expertise that graced their palates.
Adding to the excitement and keeping in line with the Hollywood theme, the Class of 2024 surprised everyone with a student-led Oscar awards ceremony. This delightful addition to the banquet brought laughter and cheer as all members of the cohort were recognized for their unique personalities and quirks. The Oscars, complete with glitzy trophies and stylish pictures, added an extra layer of fun and excitement to the evening, creating unforgettable memories that will be cherished for years to come.
As the night progressed, the ambiance embraced all in its warm embrace. Laughter and conversations filled the air as students, families, and faculty mingled, reminiscing about the incredible memories created throughout the years. It was a testament to the unity and camaraderie that had blossomed within the Class of 2024, creating a sense of belonging and togetherness that will endure well beyond graduation.
