As we gear up for the third week of school, I want to take a moment to celebrate the fantastic start we’ve had this year! It was such a joy meeting many of our new and returning families during the Primary ‘Meet Your Teacher’ sessions. Thank you for bringing your energy and enthusiasm\u2014it truly makes UISG a vibrant and welcoming community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week is packed with exciting activities, and I encourage everyone to stay connected and involved with the school. One of the highlights will be our UPTA All Parent Meeting this Friday. This is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the amazing things we have planned for the year ahead, share your ideas, and collaborate on ways to support our students’ success. Your voices matter, and we can’t wait to hear from you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And don\u2019t forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming UPTA Welcome Picnic on September 7th! Get ready for a day filled with family fun, games, activities, food, and entertainment. It\u2019s the perfect way to kick off the new year together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As stated in our definition of High Quality Learning and Teaching, here at UISG, we are firm believers in lifelong learning. Therefore, we invite and encourage parents to learn with and form our dedicated team of educators. We are starting to build our Parent Learning Workshop schedule for this coming year but would like more information from YOU so we can best suit your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 3 \u20135 Student Passes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Parent\/Student handbook:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.13.2 Student Passes for Years 3-5: Walking to\/from School<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Parents may request a student pass allowing year 3 \u2013 5 students to enter and leave school unaccompanied by an adult. This is usually for students living in the neighboring area that wish to leave through Gate C or E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

To obtain a pass: <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Parents must email the primary office or Head of Primary to give written permission for their child to enter\/leave gates C or E unaccompanied following the normal school operating hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The request should include<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • The full name of the child and grade level,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • The gate that will be used,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • The home address that the child will be walking to\/from,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Applicable dates that the pass will be valid for (i.e.semester1),<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • Emergency name & contact number,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • Full name of the parent requesting the pass.<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • Reception\/Facilities will create a pass and inform security accordingly,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • The Head of Primary reserves the right to refuse or revoke a student pass based on inappropriate or unsafe behavior,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • Students under Year 3 will not be granted a student pass and must be collected by an adult from school,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
  • Once students leave the school gates, the parent\/guardian accepts full responsibility for the child(ren).<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Student Expectations: \u5b66\u751f\u987b\u77e5: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Must stay on the paths and ensure they walk home,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
    • The pass will only apply to the child listed and not friends,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
    • Should not litter or cause unrest in the community,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
    • Leave school at 3:20 or 5pm on ECA days and go straight home,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
    • May not remain on campus past 3:20 unless they are in an ECA,<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n
    • Cannot enter the tennis courts or swimming pool under any circumstances.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Parent Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      We value all communication we get from parents. Communication is extremely important for an ongoing partnership to best support children. If you have feedback or concerns, please contact me or the teachers any time. This can be in any language you feel most comfortable in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Please check that you can access ManageBac and Schools Buddy, if you can\u2019t, contact the Primary Office for help primaryschooloffice@uisgz.org<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      For the well-being of all, we will respond within 24 hours, on weekdays, between the hours of 7am and 5pm unless it is an urgent situation. Thank you for your understanding on this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            As we have a two-week timetable in Secondary, we have now completed one full cycle of that, and students have a good sense of what their schedule looks like. It has been impressive to see the Year 6s and 7s so quickly come to grips with life in the Secondary school, as well as seeing the Year 12s right back into their focus on their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            On Thursdays of Week B, Year levels meet together and have a period of \u201cIB Hour\u201d.
