First, I want to thank the many families who came to our recent Town Hall meetings about the strategic transition of UISZ to UISG for next August. Your presence and questions were very helpful. We are working hard to make this transition smooth and successful for every stakeholder, and we are happy to have your support.

I am also pleased to share an exciting update. A key new addition to our UISG Campus is our state-of-the-art “Dragon House” boarding facility. Finally, please save the date for Saturday, March 21. We will hold our annual UEF Family Day @ UISG , a fun event for everyone. Due to ongoing construction near our usual Forest School site, we’ve temporarily relocated our outdoor learning to the beautiful Shimao Nature Area. While the setting has changed, our commitment to nature-connected education remains stronger than ever.

On Monday, we conducted a specialized return-to-work training focused on the DSE (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education) curriculum. The session analyzed the latest assessment trends and course requirements in depth. Aligned with the new semester’s teaching plan, it emphasized instructional strategies and preparation schemes for core subjects. This training aimed to enhance teachers’ precise understanding and implementation of the DSE framework, ensuring thorough preparation for effective teaching and outstanding student performance in the coming term.

Wednesday’s assembly was also a chance to hear words from the outgoing leaders. Whilst some leaders are currently Y11 and have leadership roles again this year, a special thanks needs to be given to the three DP2 students who have played such a big part in our school. The 2025 Student Captains, Anna Jung and Emily Kim, and one of our Boarding Captains, Emily Hong, have each contributed fully, been wonderful role models, and continuously shown care to their areas of responsibility. We’re very excited about our annual MUN event that is happening next week. Starting on Thursday and running through to Saturday, this is a huge undertaking by our students and staff. We will have great coverage of this event over the next two weeks to show you some behind the scenes action of our students as they take on the roles of delegates and chairs.

Next Monday, the Year 10 group will be headed to UISG to take part in a subject selection information session. This is a great opportunity to hear about the range of subjects that are on offer as they begin their Diploma Programme journey next year. Parents are also invited, so please see the information below and on ManageBac to get more details.
