This week, our PYP community at UISZ experienced the answer firsthand during our monthly House Assembly and family picnic, a beautiful fusion of recognition, play, and togetherness that embodied the very heart of the IB Primary Years Programme.

Honoring the Communicator 致敬沟通者
Our assembly opened with a moment of meaningful celebration as we recognized our Students of the Month, learners who exemplified the Communicator attribute in powerful ways. These students didn’t just speak clearly; they listened with empathy, expressed ideas across languages, collaborated with peers, and used their voices to include others.
本次集会以一场意义非凡的表彰仪式拉开帷幕。我们隆重表彰了本月之星学生,他们以实际行动生动诠释了 “沟通者”这一核心素养。这些学生不仅能够清晰表达自我,更能以同理心倾听、跨语言传递思想、与同伴协作互助,并主动用自己的表达带动他人、包容彼此。




The Power of House Games: More Than Just Play 学院游戏的力量:不止于玩乐
Following the awards, we celebrated House Games, where teamwork, resilience, and healthy competition took center stage. While laughter and cheers filled the air during relay races and creative challenges, the real magic unfolded beneath the surface:
颁奖仪式后,我们迎来了学院趣味竞赛。团队协作、坚韧精神与良性竞争成为活动的核心。接力赛与创意挑战中,欢声笑语此起彼伏,而真正的精彩,正蕴藏在这一切之下:




House Games are a cornerstone of holistic PYP education. They nurture student agency by inviting learners to lead, strategize, and support one another. And they bring the learner profile to life, whether students demonstrate principled sportsmanship, caring encouragement for teammates, or balanced participation across physical and social-emotional domains.
学院竞赛是 PYP 全人教育的重要基石。它赋予学生主导权,让学习者主动策划、制定策略、彼此支持。同时,它让学习者培养目标从理念变为现实 —— 无论是坚守原则的体育精神、对队友真诚贴心的鼓励,还是在体能与社交情感层面的均衡参与,都得到了充分展现。


A Picnic of Togetherness
一场凝聚彼此的野餐
The joy continued as families joined us on the field for a community picnic. Under the sunshine, our PYP UISZ family: students, parents, teachers, grandparents, and siblings, shared snacks, stories, and spontaneous games. These moments matter deeply: they transform school from a place of learning into a home of belonging.
喜悦仍在延续,家长们来到操场与我们共同参与社区野餐。阳光下,UISZ 的 PYP 大家庭 —— 学生、家长、老师、祖辈与兄弟姐妹 —— 分享美食、畅谈交流、即兴游戏。这些时刻意义非凡:它们让学校从一处学习之地,变成一个充满归属感的家园。


This wasn’t just an event. It was living proof of our PYP commitment to educating the whole child, nurturing not only academic growth but also social connection, emotional resilience, and a sense of shared identity.
