I am also delighted to share that our Grade 11 students had an enriching Week Without Walls experience in Beijing, exploring the city’s history and culture while embodying our spirit of adventure.

This season, we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival—a time of gratitude, family reunion, and hope. Traditions such as admiring the moon, sharing mooncakes, and lighting lanterns reflect themes of unity and prosperity, beautifully complementing the National Day holiday.

Today was a special highlight: our Celebration of Learning Assembly! Students showcased their understanding through creative presentations, artwork, and performances that brought their unit inquiries to life. We also honored several students with monthly awards for demonstrating the IB Learner Profile Attributes in their daily actions. These moments remind us of the vibrant, thoughtful community we’re building together.

1. DSE Mock Examination I
2026年香港中学文凭试（HKDSE）第一次模拟考试顺利进行
This week, DSE – D12 students at UISZ took part in their first HKDSE mock examination. The exam was held in the school’s Multi-Function Hall (MFH), which was set up in strict accordance with the official HKDSE examination standards—from seating arrangements and timing to answer submission rules—recreating an authentic exam atmosphere.
本周，誉德莱增城校区（UISZ）DSE12年级的同学们迎来了首次DSE模拟考试。考场设在学校多功能厅（MFH），严格按照香港DSE考场的标准布置，从座位安排、考试时间到答题规则，全面还原真实考场氛围。
This mock exam was not only an assessment of knowledge but also a challenge of mental and physical endurance. UISZ aims to familiarize students with the exam rhythm in advance through this highly realistic simulation, helping to reduce anxiety during the actual examination. Throughout the preparation period, the UISZ DSE teaching team provided comprehensive support to D12 students, including pre-exam psychological guidance, time management strategies, and subject-specific revision sessions. Teachers were also on standby to answer students’ questions.
本场模拟考试不仅是知识的检验，更是心里和体能的挑战，UISZ希望通过高度还原的模拟试场让考生们提前熟悉考试节奏，减少正式考试时的紧张感。备考期间，UISZ DSE的教学团队为12年级学生提供了全方位支持：包括考前心理辅导、时间管理、以及针对性的学科复习课程。老师们也全程待命，为同学们答疑解惑。
2. DSE Year 11 English Thematic Activity Month Launched
DSE- D11年级英文主题活动月启动
This week, DSE – D11 launched the English Thematic Activity Month under the theme “Deep Cognition · Global Perspective.”The initiative aims to enhance students’ comprehensive English skills and deepen their understanding of Hong Kong and international cultures through academic extension and cultural exchange activities.
本周，D11年级启动了以“深度认知·全球视野”为主题的英文主题活动月。该活动旨在通过学术拓展与文化交流，提升学生的英语综合素养，并深化对香港及国际社会文化的理解。
The event began with English speeches by two D11 students – Xu Yifei and Chen Lin. Xu Yifei delivered an in-depth analysis of the classic literary work Charlotte’s Web, while Chen Lin shared her study abroad experiences in the United States. Their excellent presentations demonstrated UISZ students’ strong language proficiency and cross-cultural thinking, setting a positive tone for the upcoming activities.
活动以两位D11年级学生——许奕霏、陈琳同学的英文演讲拉开序幕。许奕菲同学带来了对经典文学作品《夏洛特的网》的深入解读，陈琳同学则分享了其在美国的游学经历。两位同学的精彩展示，展现了UISZ学子优秀的语言表达与跨文化思考能力，也为后续系列活动奠定了良好开端。

Y11 Week Without Walls
11年级”无墙周”精彩回顾
While Guangdong was experiencing extreme weather, the Year Eleven cohort from UISZ and UISG were able to attend their Week Without Walls trip without disruption. I went with Year Eleven students to Beijing where we had a wonderful week of experiences. The consensus from all adults involved in this trip was that this UISZ group were exceptional. They were the most brilliant ambassadors for UISZ and charmed everyone they met.
当广东遭遇极端天气时，我们誉德莱增城学校与广州学校的十一年级班却顺利完成了他们的”无墙周”研学之旅！我本次随行前往北京，与同学们共同度过了充满惊喜的一周。所有随行老师的一致评价是：这群UISZ学生实在太出色了！他们成为了UISZ最耀眼的 “大使” 并让所以遇见他们的人都啧啧称赞。

MYP WWW Dates
MYP”无墙周”新日程
The MYP Week Without Walls trips will now be held from March 30, 2026. This date may seem like a long way off in the school year, but it aims to ensure the best possible weather for our students to fully enjoy all that WWW has to offer. We will be in touch with parents later in the year to restart our preparations for these trips.

A Look Back: Celebrating Our Students

On the evening of September 17th, our boarding house was filled with laughter, music, and the delicious aroma of a barbecue as we came together for a special celebration. The event served a dual purpose: honoring the birthdays of students born in August and September, and presenting the prestigious “Boarding Student of the Month” awards.
9月17日晚，我们的宿舍充满了欢声笑语、音乐和烧烤的香气。这次特别聚会旨在庆祝8月及9月生日的学生，并颁发”月度寄宿之星”奖项。
It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to relax, socialize outside of the classroom, and celebrate each other’s achievements and milestones. The sense of community was truly palpable, and it was a joy to see everyone having such a great time.

A Look Ahead: Spooky Season and More Celebrations

Our dedicated Boarding Captains are already deep in planning for a Halloween event! They are currently developing ideas for what promises to be a spooky and fun evening, tentatively planned for the weekend of October 22nd. We are all looking forward to seeing their creative plans come to life. Stay tuned for an official announcement with confirmed details in the coming weeks.
