At UISZ, we offer both the continuous International Baccalaureate (IB) programme and the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), we bring together educators from 12 countries and regions worldwide. How long did it take a transfer student to go from \u201cstranger\u201d to \u201cconfident\u201d? What happened?
\u4f60\u66fe\u5e26\u8fc7\u8f6c\u5b66\u63d2\u73ed\u751f\u2014\u2014\u4ece\u201c\u964c\u751f\u201d\u5230\u201c\u81ea\u4fe1\u201d\u82b1\u4e86\u591a\u4e45\uff1f\u5177\u4f53\u53d1\u751f\u4e86\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new student joined our class late in the semester. Initially, it was hard for her to make friends, especially in a class full of boys. Over time, she earned everyone\u2019s respect and has integrated into our class, as well as making friends from different grades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5373\u5c06\u5b66\u671f\u672b\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u73ed\u8fce\u6765\u4e86\u4e00\u4f4d\u65b0\u540c\u5b66\u3002\u8d77\u521d\uff0c\u5979\u5728\u73ed\u4e0a\u5f88\u96be\u4ea4\u5230\u670b\u53cb\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u7537\u751f\u5360\u591a\u6570\u7684\u73ed\u7ea7\u91cc\u3002\u968f\u7740\u65f6\u95f4\u7684\u63a8\u79fb\uff0c\u5979\u8d62\u5f97\u4e86\u5927\u5bb6\u7684\u5c0a\u91cd\uff0c\u4e0d\u4ec5\u878d\u5165\u4e86\u6211\u4eec\u73ed\u7ea7\uff0c\u8fd8\u7ed3\u4ea4\u4e86\u4e0d\u540c\u5e74\u7ea7\u7684\u4f19\u4f34\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classroom design.<\/strong> After a PD session on the effects of classroom design, I immediately made some changes that have made my classroom a more inviting and exciting place to be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6559\u5ba4\u8bbe\u8ba1\u3002<\/strong>\u53c2\u52a0\u5b8c\u5173\u4e8e\u6559\u5ba4\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5f71\u54cd\u7684\u6559\u5e08\u57f9\u8bad\u540e\uff0c\u6211\u7acb\u5373\u8fdb\u884c\u4e86\u4e00\u4e9b\u8c03\u6574\uff0c\u4f7f\u6211\u7684\u6559\u5ba4\u53d8\u5f97\u66f4\u5177\u5438\u5f15\u529b\uff0c\u4e5f\u66f4\u4ee4\u4eba\u5174\u594b\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some ways, all my lessons have an aspect of challenge or \u201cfailure.\u201d No lesson goes perfectly smoothly, and as a teacher, I have to roll with the punches and embrace it as part of my profession. Learning this has helped me be more relaxed with my students and with my colleagues. While I still strive for perfection, mistakes and obstacles are inevitable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One piece of advice for a new teacher joining us?
\u5982\u679c\u7ed9\u201c\u65b0\u8001\u5e08\u201d\u4e00\u53e5\u8bdd\u5efa\u8bae\uff0c\u4f60\u4f1a\u8bf4\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get some good shoes! The school is big and you\u2019ll be doing a lot of walking.
