This past week, our Grade 12 students have been in their final stretch of preparation for the IB exams that begin next Monday, and we have been inspired by their focus and resilience. Additionally, we are thrilled to celebrate the first university offer has come in for our DSE students, who are wrapping up their exams in Hong Kong, and we look forward to many more over the coming weeks!
过去一周，我校十二年级的同学们已进入最后冲刺阶段，迎接即将在下周一开始的IB考试。他们专注而坚韧的精神，让我们也为之振奋。此外，我们欣喜地宣布，正在香港参加考试的DSE同学们已开始收到首批大学录取通知书。在未来几周内，我们热切期待更多喜讯的到来！
On a separate note, our secondary students will be conducting a survey to collect additional information on ways we can best support them with any questions about the upcoming move of our UISZ IB and DSE programs to UISG in August. There has been a lot of excitement around this, but as with everything, there may be unanswered questions we can assist with. Please let us know how we can support you to ensure this is a positive move for you and your family!

What an incredible week it has been in our Primary Years Programme! This week, our students have shown us what it means to be engaged, reflective, and joyful learners.

The PYPx Journey Begins:
This week marked a significant milestone for our Grade 5 students: the official launch of the PYP Exhibition (PYPx)!
PYPx 探究之旅正式起航：
本周，我们五年级的同学们迎来了一个重要的里程碑：小学项目学习成果展（PYPx）正式启动！
You might be wondering, what exactly happened this week? Students took their first serious steps into their independent inquiry journey. They moved from brainstorming broad ideas to “walking on their topic”, diving deep into research, asking probing questions, and identifying real-world issues they are passionate about solving.
您或许想知道，这周究竟发生了什么？学生们迈出了他们独立探究之旅中坚实的第一步。他们从头脑风暴的广阔想法出发，继而“走进”自己的选题，深入钻研，提出层层递进的探究性问题，并确定了他们热切希望解决的真实世界议题。
A key part of this process was meeting their mentors. Each student was paired with a mentor (a staff member) who will guide them, challenge their thinking, and support them as they navigate the complexities of their project.
在这个过程中，一个关键环节是同学们与各自的导师初次会面。每位学生都配备了一位导师（由校内教职员工担任），这位导师将在他们应对项目中的种种复杂挑战时，提供引导、激发其深入思考并给予全力支持。
Why is this important? The PYPx is not just a project; it is the culmination of the entire IB PYP journey. It is where students synthesize all the essential elements they have learned over the years:
Transdisciplinary Themes: Connecting learning across subjects.
Key Concepts: Driving deep understanding.
Approaches to Learning (ATL): Using research, self-management, and communication skills.
Learner Profile Attributes: Becoming inquirers, thinkers, and communicators.
By meeting their mentors and refining their topics, students are taking ownership of their learning. They are transitioning from students being taught to learners leading the way. We are so proud of their maturity and excitement as they embark on this capstone experience!
为什么这一环节至关重要？PYPx不仅仅是一个项目，它更是整个IB PYP学习旅程的巅峰之作。在这里，学生们将整合多年来所习得的所有核心要素：

On Wednesday, a group of students from Y6-11 spent time giving back to the school community by cleaning up trash and debris. This was a great Service-In-Action opportunity. Thank you to each student for volunteering your time. Thank you to Mz Trudel, Ms Fig, and Ms Wanjing for organising this opportunity.

During advisory time this week, students decorated their advisory classroom doors using books as their theme. We also had an individual competition running to recreate a book cover. At the time of writing, we have yet to announce the winners for each competition, so I will share the winners and their entries next week.
