A huge thank you to the students, staff, and parents who contributed to the final School Consultative Forum (SCF) for the year, which took place yesterday at UISZ. It was a wonderful time to celebrate all the success stories this year in Primary, Secondary, and Boarding. I was particularly impressed by the student presentations—seeing them take agency in their learning and making a positive impact on our school community is truly inspiring.

Our young learners have been thriving this week, embracing curiosity and connecting with their world in meaningful ways. Here’s a snapshot of what’s been happening across our classrooms:

K–K2: Nature as Our Third Teacher
Our youngest explorers spent much of their mornings and afternoons outdoors, engaging directly with nature around our school. Through hands-on exploration, they’re discovering plants, observing growth patterns, and building early scientific thinking skills. In the IB PYP, we believe that the community, and yes, even nature— is the third teacher. These experiences are laying strong foundations for inquiry-based learning!
K-K2：大自然 —— “我们的第三位老师”

K3/G1: House Designs Scavenger Hunt in Dapuwei Village
Our K3 and G1 students took their learning beyond the classroom walls by visiting Dapuwei Village for an exciting scavenger hunt focused on house designs! They explored different architectural styles, discussed why people choose certain designs, and reflected on how culture, climate, and materials influence building choices. Once again, the community became their classroom, proving that real-world connections deepen understanding.
K3/一年级：大埔围村寻宝记——探寻房屋设计的秘密
K3与一年级的学生们走出教室，前往大埔围村开展了一场别开生面的“房屋设计寻宝活动”！他们探索了不同的建筑风格，讨论了人们为何选择特定设计，并反思了文化、气候与材料如何共同影响建筑的选择。社区再次成为他们的课堂——这再次证明，真实世界的联结能够加深学习的理解。
G2/3: Budgeting Buddies!
Our Grade 2 and 3 students are diving into practical math and life skills through a fun budgeting challenge. They’ve been calculating costs for fruits, milk, and cups, but wait… can you guess what their project might be about? Stay tuned for more clues next week!

This week, Principal Zhang and our guidance team conducted individualized university application advisory sessions for every D12 student. Based on their predicted scores, students received tailored guidance on refining their program choices.This meticulous approach ensures that every D12 student—regardless of their predicted score range—has a clear, realistic, and well-structured pathway to higher education. We are committed to leaving no student behind.

With the D12 examination season drawing to a close, our D11 students have now fully entered the revision phase of their DSE preparation. Classes have shifted focus toward comprehensive review, past paper practice, and targeted skill-building. Teachers are providing intensive support, identifying knowledge gaps, and reinforcing exam techniques. Our D11 cohort has shown remarkable focus and discipline as they embrace the reality that their own DSE journey is now less than a year away. The countdown has begun—and they are ready.

We have had some very diligent and focussed students this week as our Y12 Diploma Programme students enter the second week of their final examinations and our Y10 Middle Years Programme students have completed their first week of onscreen examinations. Well done to all the effort and care you are putting into showing your knowledge and skills.
在这周，校园里处处可见勤勉专注的身影——十二年级DP课程的学子们已进入期末大考的第二周，十年级MYP课程的同学也圆满完成了首周机考。你们全力以赴展现学识与风采，这份认真与投入，值得最热烈的掌声！
On Wednesday, the Year 8 class celebrated their Book Festival competition win by choosing a book-inspired film to view during Period 1. They watched one of the Harry Potter films in the MFH with popcorn to snack on. It was a great opportunity to reward their efforts and have a shared advisory experience.
周三，八年级的同学们庆祝了在 “图书节”比赛中赢得的荣誉——那就是在第一节课观看一部由书籍改编的电影。他们齐聚多功能厅，一边以爆米花为零嘴，一边津津有味地观看《哈利·波特》。这是一份嘉奖，也是一次温馨而难忘的班级回忆。
