Physics Field Trip (Tuesday) – Our students will embark on a hands-on Physics field trip, applying classroom concepts to real-world experiences.

This week, our students continued engaging in meaningful learning experiences across the Primary School. We are especially proud of our Grade 5 students, who are enthusiastically preparing for the PYP Exhibition and working on inspiring action projects connected to real-world issues.

As part of our commitment to student safety and preparedness, classes also spent time learning about earthquake preparedness and the importance of staying calm and following safety procedures during emergencies. Next week, we will conduct a whole-school earthquake drill to help students practice these important routines in a safe and supportive way.
作为学校保障学生安全与提升应急能力的重要举措，各班本周还专门学习了地震防范知识，了解了在紧急情况下保持冷静、遵循安全流程的重要性。下周，学校将组织全校范围的地震演习，帮助学生在安全、受支持的环境中演练这些重要流程。

D11 Inter-Class Spelling Bee Competition

This week, our D11 students took a lively break from their intensive revision schedule to participate in the much-anticipated Inter-Class Spelling Bee Competition. Classmates competed against one another in a spirited and friendly contest, testing their vocabulary, spelling accuracy, and quick thinking under pressure. Beyond the fun and excitement, the competition reinforced essential English skills that are critical for DSE success. Congratulations to every participant who showed courage and enthusiasm. A big thank you to the teachers who organized this engaging and educational event!

On May 22nd, our community gathered to celebrate one of the most significant moments of the school year: the Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2026. Families, teachers, and staff came together to honor our D12 graduates for their perseverance, growth, and accomplishments. The ceremony was filled with proud smiles, heartfelt speeches, and a few happy tears. As our graduates walked across the stage to receive their certificates, they marked not only the end of their secondary school journey but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives. To the Class of 2026: You have made us proud. Go forward with confidence, courage, and the knowledge that you will always be part of the UISZ family. Congratulations!

On Monday, Grades 10 and 11 and a group of Grade 9 students visited UISG to attend a talk by Dr Matthias Dörrzapf from Cambridge University. The talk, entitled ‘Your Future in Mathematics: Course Options and Career Pathways’, was a chance to promote the possibilities on offer in the mathematical field. Thank you to Mr Erdal, one of our Mathematics faculty, for chaperoning this trip.
周一，十年级、十一年级以及部分九年级的同学一同前往誉德莱广州学校（UISG），聆听了来自剑桥大学的Matthias Dörrzapf博士带来的精彩讲座。这场题为《你在数学领域的未来——课程选择与职业路径》的讲座，为大家打开了数学世界的无限可能。感谢我们数学科组的Erdal老师带队前往。

In what is the final step in their eAssessment journey, our Grade 10 students exhibited their personal projects and shared their process and learning with the attendees.
作为十年级同学们学业评估之旅的收官之作，大家纷纷展示了自己的个人项目，并与观展的访客们分享了创作过程与心得体会。
It was amazing to see the way each project is perfectly tailored to each student’s area of interest. Well done to each of you for the hard work and care that you put into your projects. Thank you so much to the parents who were able to attend and see your children’s hard work on display.

Thank you to our Personal Project Coordinator, Mr Barth, for his efforts in setting up this exhibition and in coordinating this vital part of the Grade 10 learning experience.

Grade 9 Interdisciplinary Exhibition
九年级跨学科项目展
The Grade 9 students also showcased their learning on Wednesday through a display of their interdisciplinary reports. Their interdisciplinary learning this year combined Mathematics and Language and Literature subjects as they explored Psychology, ran experiments, and published reports with their findings.
周三，九年级的同学们通过跨学科报告展示了自己的学习成果。今年，他们将数学与语言文学学科知识融合，围绕心理学主题展开实验，并发布了研究报告。
These students were able to discuss their findings and what understandings they have gained through this process in a detailed and reflective manner.

MYP Visual Arts Exhibitions

The 2nd floor of UISZ was also the host to a display of stunning artworks by MYP Visual Arts students. It was amazing to see what each grade had been working on and to read the artists’ statements that accompanied the work.
在誉德莱增城学校（UISZ）二楼，MYP视觉艺术班的惊艳作品正在展出。欣赏每个年级的创作、阅读作品旁的创作说明，真是一场美妙的体验。
It was also a chance to see Emma Lin’s exquisite ePortfolio work that she submitted for eAssessment.

DP2 Exams complete

We have completed the final examinations for the DP2 May 2026 session. Well done to our DP2 students for all of their hard work. Thank you to Ms Alya for overseeing this examination period. Thank you to our DP2 teachers for guiding our students during this important time.

Grade 8 Design Lanterns
八年级设计课：灯笼展
On Thursday, the Grade 8 Design students exhibited the lanterns that they created in response to staff surveys. Each student was paired with an anonymous staff member, and the designers were tasked with designing a lantern in response to the information shared through the anonymous survey.
周四，八年级设计课的学生们展出了他们根据教职员工调研反馈而创作的灯笼。每位学生与一位匿名教职员工匹配，设计师们需要根据匿名调查问卷所分享的信息，设计出一款专属灯笼。
Today, students were able to know their staff member’s identity and interview them about their thoughts on the final design. It was also a great opportunity to talk to each student about their process and choices. They have created lovely, thoughtful, and symbolic designs all tailored to their clients.
今天，同学们终于揭晓了自己服务对象——那位员工的身份，并对他们就最终设计的想法进行了访谈。这同时也是与每位学生深入探讨其创作过程与设计选择的宝贵机会。孩子们创作出精致、贴心且富有象征意义的设计，完全契合了客户的需求。
I loved the lantern that Renee designed for me. Her talent is incredible.

On Friday night we have our DP2 and DSE12 Graduation.
周五晚上，我们将举行DP2和DSE12的毕业典礼。
Rehearsals and preparations are underway as I write this. We have a wonderful group of student helpers from DP1 and DSE to support the smooth running of the ceremony. A huge thank you needs to go to the DP Coordinator, Ms Alya, who has put in significant time and energy to create a wonderful ceremony for us to enjoy.
行文之时，彩排和准备工作正在紧锣密鼓地进行。我们有一群来自DP1和DSE的优秀学生志愿者，他们将协助典礼顺利开展。由衷感谢DP课程主任Alya老师，她投入了大量时间与精力，为我们精心打造了一场值得珍藏的美好典礼。

On Saturday, a group of Grade 9-11 students will be attending Senior Prom in Dongguan.

Next week we have a Physics field trip on Tuesday, and the DP1 Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition is happening on Friday afternoon during Periods 5 & 6.
下周，周二将进行物理实地考察之旅，周五下午第五、六节课将举行DP1知识论（TOK）展览。
