We are particularly thrilled to introduce a brand-new destination to our camp offerings, expanding opportunities for immersive learning and growth. This is something we will continue to expand for next year at UISG.

Grade 5:
This week marks a poignant milestone for our Grade 5 students. They are currently concluding their last Unit of Inquiry in Primary before transitioning into their highly anticipated PYP Exhibition unit. This specific unit serves as a vital bridge, preparing them for the independence and depth required for the Exhibition.
Their central inquiry focuses on Heroes. However, rather than studying fictional characters with superpowers, students have been challenged to redefine what heroism looks like in reality. As part of their projects, each student has developed an original hero story in comic-strip form. These comics are not just artistic endeavors; they are narrative demonstrations of understanding conflict, resolution, and moral courage.
五年级:
本周,五年级的孩子们迎来了一个意义非凡的里程碑——他们正完成小学阶段最后一个探究单元,即将迈入备受期待的小学项目成果展(PYPx)。这一单元扮演着至关重要的桥梁角色,为他们在成果展中所需的独立探究能力与思维深度做好铺垫。

Grade 4
Our Grade 4 is leading a compassionate initiative to save the endangered Axolotls. They are currently accepting donations through a campaign offering Axolotl adoptions for 50rmb, with all sales going directly to the World Wildlife Fund Inc. Each purchase includes a student-made 3D axolotls, and a unique student-designed sticker, contributing to efforts that help Axolotls remain a key part of their natural environment in Mexico. During the conference, your child will showcase their project and explain how their conservation work is making a tangible difference.
四年级:
四年级的孩子们正发起一项充满关怀的倡议——拯救濒危的美西螈(六角恐龙)。他们正通过一项认养活动接受捐赠:以50元人民币认养一只美西螈,所得款项将全数捐赠给世界自然基金会(WWF)。每份认养礼包包含一只学生亲手制作的3D美西螈模型,以及一张由学生设计的独家贴纸,所有努力旨在帮助美西螈在墨西哥的自然栖息地中继续繁衍生息。在会议期间,您的孩子将向您展示这一项目,并讲述他们的保护工作如何为守护这些生灵带来切实的改变。


Grade 3:
Our Grade 3 students have been making impressive connections between engineering, journalism, and economics. This week marked the completion of their Taipei 101 model, a project that inspired them to write newspaper reports about Alex Honnold’s ascent of this famous skyscraper. In parallel, the class explored history through the lens of money, collectively establishing that money is “something that connects us to the things we want and need.” They conducted fascinating research into salt as a form of ancient money, investigating why this interesting mineral was historically prized and continues to be so valuable today. During the conference, your child will share their model, present their news reports, and explain their insights into how value is determined across time.

Our youngest learners have been exploring the power of collaboration through our Unit of Inquiry, How We Organize Ourselves. Students reflected on the concept of teamwork using a Y-Chart, identifying what teamwork looks like, sounds like, and feels like, while actively exploring and playing three different outdoor games that required communication, sharing, and problem-solving.
To deepen their understanding of roles and responsibilities in our school community, students conducted amazing interviews with adults across our campus, learning firsthand about their jobs, daily responsibilities, and how teamwork helps our school run smoothly.
K3至一年级:
我们最年幼的学习者们正通过探究单元“我们如何组织自己”,探索协作的力量。学生们运用Y型图反思“团队合作”这一概念,从“看起来”“听起来”“感觉起来”三个维度理解其内涵,同时通过体验三种需要沟通、分享与解决问题的户外游戏,在实践中深化认知。

K-K2
Our youngest learners in K1–K2 are embracing fascinating roles within their Unit of Inquiry, How We Organize Ourselves. In our exploration centers, students have taken ownership of their learning by choosing to become doctors, engineers, cooks, firefighters, and post-office messengers, effectively transforming our classrooms into vibrant community hubs.
They are using this contextual knowledge to connect to foundational concepts of patterns and rhyming.
幼儿园K1-K2:
我们最年幼的K1至K2学习者们,正在探究单元“我们如何组织自己”中,热情地扮演着各种引人入胜的角色。在我们的探索中心里,孩子们通过选择成为医生、工程师、厨师、消防员和邮递员,真正成为了学习的主人——他们将教室变成了充满活力的社区小天地。

Assembly
Today’s Primary assembly was a vibrant celebration of growth and character, featuring our Student Award Ceremony. We were delighted to recognize and celebrate our students who have exemplified the IB Learner Profile attribute of Thinkers—those who approach challenges with curiosity, use critical and creative thinking to solve problems, and make thoughtful, ethical decisions in their learning. Additionally, our wonderful Student Council took the stage to share a powerful message about teamwork, reminding us all that when we collaborate, listen, and support one another, we create a stronger, kinder school community. Congratulations to all our award recipients, and thank you to our Student Council for their inspiring leadership!

The evening was made even more special by the Community Star Award Ceremony, where we honored three outstanding students who have exemplified kindness, leadership, and dedication throughout the month.

On March 25th, our Monthly Assembly brought the community together to reflect on our collective growth and celebrate academic excellence. A special highlight was the recognition of students who have embodied the Learner Profile attribute of “Thinker” —individuals who demonstrate critical thinking, creativity, and thoughtful problem-solving.

D12 Senior Sharing Session: English Learning Experience

Also on March 25th, we had the privilege of hearing from David Ke Yunxiang, an outstanding D12 student, who shared his valuable insights and practical strategies for English learning. As a fellow student still walking alongside us on campus, David drew from his own academic journey to offer effective study habits, time management techniques, and the mindset needed to tackle challenges. His engaging presentation inspired D10 and D11 students, providing them not only with concrete techniques but also with the confidence to pursue excellence. This peer-to-peer exchange beautifully reflects the spirit of mutual support that defines our UISZ community. Our heartfelt thanks go to David for giving back and serving as a role model for our younger learners!

We are thrilled to announce that next week, our students will take the lead in organizing and executing a special Spring Outing, guided and supported by our dedicated teachers. Scheduled for April 2nd, this exciting day of activities—aptly themed “Sunshine Skiing, Joyful Campus Tour” —promises adventure, laughter, and meaningful connection.
This student-initiated event reflects the leadership, creativity, and collaborative spirit that define our community. Through a day of outdoor exploration, team-building challenges, and shared experiences, students will have the opportunity to strengthen friendships, develop resilience, and foster a positive class atmosphere.

Student leadership workshop

On Wednesday, our student leaders joined their UISG counterparts for a day of leadership activities. They took part in activities at the UISG campus before heading to Baiyun Mountain to work in groups to achieve challenges. The students fully took part in all the challenges, and it was wonderful to hear their thoughts on leadership.
周三,我校学生领袖与 UISG 的学生领袖们相聚一堂,共赴一场领导力之旅。他们在 UISG 校园参与活动后,又前往白云山,以小组形式迎接各项挑战。看到同学们全情投入,听到他们对领导力的见解,真是让人倍感欣喜。

On Thursday, our football teams played against the Affiliated School of JNU (ASJ). The girls’ team won their match 4-3. Well done to both teams for the teamwork, sportsmanship, and skills you had on display.
