The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is for students aged 3 to 11. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. At the heart of the programme’s philosophy is a commitment to structured, purposeful inquiry as the leading vehicle for learning.
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people capable of empathising with others whilst pursuing lives of purpose and meaning. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally, and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical, and reflective thinkers, prepared for the 21st Century.
The IB Diploma programme (DP) is a two-year programme of study that is considered excellent preparation for university and vocational pursuits worldwide. It is an academically challenging programme and internationally recognised for its ability to help prepare students to succeed at under-graduate level.
The values and educational philosophies of the IB Programmes are to ensure that students are encouraged to make their own ideas and to understand the application of these ideas within their own lives. The programmes at UISZ are student-centred, emphasising the importance of connectedness and concurrency of learning. We actively seek to encourage our students to link their learning to our local and global contexts. UISZ learners are delivered one of the most challenging IB-systems offered to school aged students. We push students to challenge and question knowledge, develop confidence in their own individuality whilst developing cultural awareness, understanding and respect for all.
