Next week, our campus will be buzzing with activity, starting with our all-week Library Book Fair and the important Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, the 22nd. We are also celebrating Digital Citizenship Week with special lessons for our students.
The week culminates in a major highlight: our annual UISG Uni Fair next Friday, the 24th, where we are proud to host nearly 100 universities from over 15 countries around the world. It is a week that perfectly captures our community’s spirit, from foundational learning to future planning. We look forward to sharing it with you.

One of the key aspects that differentiates IB schools from other systems is the focus on developing internationally minded people who help to make the world a better and more peaceful place. Through the curriculum and extra-curricular activities, we hope to help students become responsible members of their communities. We have started an additional way of recognising students who demonstrate a particular Learner Profile attribute, using Learner Profile positive postcards. A group of Grade 6 students were the first ones to receive these. Well done to them!

UN Day
Connected to making the world a better place, we will come together as a whole school on October 24th to celebrate UN Day. There will be a Parade of Nations at 10am, followed by some cultural performances. Parents are invited to join us (and join in!). Students are strongly encouraged to wear clothing that represents their home country. This could be in the form of national dress, national sport team, or just the colors of their country. Please encourage your child to actively participate in the day.
Progress Reports
These reports are issued on Friday October 17th. A student’s Learning Behaviour is a strong indicator for success, both at school and in life beyond. The Learning Behaviours correspond strongly with the IB Approaches to Learning and also connect with the important goal of developing lifelong learners. Please take a look at the tables below which set out what the Learning Behaviours are, and also what the different levels mean when they are reported on.
There will be an opportunity to discuss this with teachers at the Parent-Teacher-Student conferences which take place on Wednesday October 22nd.

Dear UNC Parents,
Starting this week, I will be sharing the latest news and event about UNC with parents through the “Week Ahead”, so that we can better interact and collaborate. Here is the schedule for next week:
- On Friday, October 24th, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, all UNC teachers, students, and parents will participate in the school’s UN Day celebration. For details, please check the event announcement posted in the Year Group Discussion area on the ManageBac app.
- All IB classes will hold a parent-teacher conference on Wednesday, October 22nd. UNC students will continue classes that day, and our parent-teacher conference will be held at the end of the semester, class teachers will contact you one on one. There will be no school bus service that day, so parents of students who are bused will be required to pick up their children. We start at 8:15 AM, and end at 3:45 PM. ECA classes will continue as normal that day.
- From October 21st to 23rd, the school library will hold a book fair.
