October 16, 2026: An Incredible Week Ahead at UISG – Join us!
UISG 커뮤니티 여러분,
Looking ahead to the next month, here at UISG, we have an action-packed schedule filled with opportunities for our students, parents, and staff to connect, celebrate, and come together as one amazing community. You will not want to miss a moment of it.
Tuesday: Semester One Parent-Teacher Conferences - Please join us next Tuesday for our Semester One Parent-Teacher Conferences, which will take place throughout the day. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers and have meaningful conversations about their learning journey at UISG. Together, we can strengthen the partnership between school and home to ensure continued success. I encourage you to join us.
Friday: UN Day – A Schoolwide Celebration of Diversity - Additionally, on Friday, we celebrate the diversity of our community through UN Day. This year, we have made it a schoolwide event, which adds to excitement and celebration. We welcome our parents and special guests from the diplomatic community for this memorable occasion. Come celebrate with us and experience the strength of our UISG Wolf Pack.
Save the Date: November 28 – International Festival of Light - Please mark your calendar for November 28, as our annual 국제 빛의 축제(IFOL) returns. This is one of the most anticipated evenings of the year at UISG, featuring dazzling lights, outstanding performances, delicious food, and our entire community coming together. This is an event the whole community looks forward to, and you are invited.
We look forward to seeing you on campus!

K3 Family Day Fun!

What a joyful K3 Family Day on October 15! Our youngest learners kicked off the afternoon with a sweet song and poem celebrating family, then laughed and cheered through three exciting games that had everyone joining in. Parents were treated to some extra TLC as children lovingly applied face masks and gave gentle hand and arm massages. The celebration wrapped up with our tiny helpers transforming into restaurant servers—taking orders and delivering tasty snacks with big smiles. A warm thank-you to all families who came to share in the fun and make today so special—your support and enthusiasm made K3 Family Day unforgettable!

The Art of Observation: A Transformative PD Day with Dr. Paul Epstein

During our recent professional days, UISG proudly hosted renowned Montessori expert Dr. Paul Epstein for a full day of transformative professional development, welcoming our early years and Montessori staff. A direct student of Dr. Maria Montessori with five decades of hands-on experience, Dr. Epstein a respected administrator, teacher, researcher, and writer brought rare depth to the day. The session focused on observing children so we can respond more effectively, support their independence, and help them feel loved, secure, and trusting.

Dr. Epstein reminded us that when children feel understood and believed in, small moments of connection accumulate like “potential bubbles” in their brains — an intangible, lifelong resource. We learned to pause before stepping in and ask: Does the child truly need help, or do we? Are we acting from anxiety or a need to be needed? True support builds independence. We left with a practical approach: observe first, reflect on ourselves, then offer only the support that fosters independence. Observation, Dr. Epstein showed us, is an art — through it we discover both the child and ourselves.

Boarding Life:Reflection, Leadership, and Halloween Fun
This week, mentors met individually with students to review their first six weeks of boarding life, reflecting on academic study habits, responsibility, leadership, behaviour, routines, and personal goals. These conversations help students celebrate successes, identify areas for growth, and set targets for the weeks ahead.

Looking ahead, our Student Leadership Team has been busy preparing for our Boarding Halloween Celebration on October 26, led by Entertainment Captain Vivian (Grade 9). The evening will feature a BBQ dinner, student awards and birthday celebrations, a costume competition, a haunted house experience, and activity booths run by students. What has been truly wonderful to see is not just an event coming together, but students rising as leaders and building a stronger community in the process. They are learning to take initiative, support one another, and turn shared ideas into a memorable experience for everyone. We are proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork, and leadership our students have shown while planning this event, and we look forward to seeing the whole boarding community celebrate together with joy, connection, and pride.
