On Friday, 6 November, we invite you to our campus to witness this learning journey in action. A special highlight of this Open Day is our PYP Talent Show, where our young learners will step into the spotlight to share their creativity and talents. Come and experience first‑hand what makes UISG a leading IB school in Guangzhou.
What a fun day it has been, with our campus filled with costumes and characters as many of our students and staff celebrated Friday and Halloween! Thank you for another fantastic week; our students continue to impress with their energy and talent.
Students became curious explorers of their chosen countries. They dug into traditions, landscapes, food, and stories—then turned their learning into incredible door displays. Each classroom door became a little window into another culture. Walking down the corridor felt like a mini world tour, built entirely by student inquiry and pride.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our UN Day Celebration today, it was a wonderful way to celebrate the diversity of our community, which truly adds so much value to our international school culture! Looking ahead, we have an action-packed final week of October, with many opportunities for our parents to join in the learning process.

The MUN season at UISG began with our first conference of the year: SISMUN, held at Shekou International School (SIS).
Looking ahead to the next month, here at UISG, we have an action-packed schedule filled with opportunities for our students, parents, and staff to connect, celebrate, and come together as one amazing community. You will not want to miss a moment of it.
Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and joyful long break celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on Monday morning, October 12th, as we kick off the next stretch of the school year.
During the last week before break, UISG Secondary Division transformed into a vibrant hub of rhythm, rhyme, and raw emotion. Mr. Edward Steele designed the inaugural ACAMIS Poetry Slam, a landmark event that brought together young voices from across the region for a day of linguistic celebration. At the heart of this event was a very special guest: Australian rapper, poet, writer, and educator, Xannon Shirley, known professionally as The Tongue.
UISG recently welcomed literacy and Writer’s Workshop expert Matt Glover for an inspiring and impactful week of professional learning. Matt’s visit built on several online sessions he held with teachers during the last school year. His week with the school this term highlighted the progress already made in teaching writing while also nudging our learning forward through purposeful next steps. His visit brought together teachers, support staff, parents, and students around a shared commitment: helping every learner grow as a confident, capable, and purposeful writer.
