Redefining UISG Spirit through Mural

At UISG, we believe in the power of art to unite, inspire, and transform. In the 2024/2025 school year, the Mural Service Project is once again a shining example of this belief in action!

Led by three passionate Year 11 students – Gabrielle Anne Florence Le Maréchal, Sophia JiHye Kim, and Kevin Kim – as part of their IB CAS project, this initiative has brought together over 20 students from Years 6 to 11. Under the guidance of art teacher Mr. Benny Kharismana, our young artists are turning the lower wall next to our main soccer field into a masterpiece!

Unlike last year’s dragon-themed mural, this year’s project began with an open call for artistic explorations. After much deliberation, we selected a stunning design by Kevin Kim that perfectly captures our school’s spirit as a starting design direction.

与去年的“巨龙主题”不同，今年的设计灵感源自全校公开征集。经过层层筛选，我们最终选中了 Kevin Kim 的惊艳设计——它以独特的方式捕捉了UISG的精神内核。

Sophia JiHye Kim explains the concept: “The mural exhibits a unique combination of texture and color, emphasizing our diverse learning environment. The rising and falling lines symbolize personal growth in knowledge, participation, and teamwork. The wolf abstraction represents each member of our community on their journey of development.” The vibrant green in the design not only represents our school colors but also symbolizes growth and rejuvenation – core values at UISG!

Sophia JiHye Kim 如此诠释创作理念：
“壁画通过质感与色彩的碰撞，展现了多元化的学习环境。起伏的线条象征着知识积累、团队协作与个人成长的交织；抽象的狼图腾则代表每一位师生在成长道路上的勇往直前。”
设计中跃动的绿色不仅是校徽的主色调，更寓意着“成长”与“焕新”——这正是UISG的核心价值！

Our dedicated volunteers have been working tirelessly, painting during lunch breaks, self-study periods, and after-school sessions. But we’re not done yet! We’re calling on all members of our school community to contribute:

We’re aiming to complete this stunning mural before the summer holidays. In the coming weeks, we’ll be adding intricate patterns and motifs, bringing the design to life.
