As we celebrate our upcoming MYP Theatre Week with special performances all week long, we’re also excited to share an important opportunity to engage with our school leadership and exciting plans for next year.
켜짐 Wednesday, May 14 at 2:00 PM, UEF Board Chair, Ms. Dorothy Wong, UEF Superintendent, Mr. Dan Mullen, and members of the leadership team will present our strategic planning 그리고 facility upgrades planned for next year – your partnership in shaping the future of UISG is a valuable part of these discussions. The meeting with take place in the Admin Hall.
Ms. Dorothy and the administration will host a follow-up session to discuss priorities for the coming year and answer your questions. Between these strategic conversations and the creative energy of our MYP Theatre Week, it’s truly an exciting time at UISG. We hope you’ll join us for these important discussions about our school’s continued success and future.

Another full week after a glorious long weekend!
This week I’d like to share some pictures from a cross-campus activity in which Year 6 students have been creating toys for the early years students. They took their prototypes to the classrooms to trial and gather feedback from their ‘customers’. Many thanks to the Y6 and Early Years teachers for organising this collaborative, community experience
Student Led Conferences – Next Wednesday!
We look forward to seeing all parents in school next week for their child(ren)s conference. Just a few things to remember (thank you Joanne for sharing):
What a Student-Led Conference (SLC) IS:
A special opportunity for your child to showcase their learning journey in their own words.
A day where your child leads you through a variety of learning experiences and activities.
A chance for students to reflect on their growth, share their work, and explain what they’ve learned.
A celebration of your child’s effort, progress, and unique learning style.
A non-judgmental and encouraging environment focused on student voice and confidence.
A meaningful and quality bonding moment between you and your child.
What a Student-Led Conference (SLC) is NOT:
It is not a parent-teacher conference — the teacher does not lead or report on the child’s performance.
It is not a formal assessment or evaluation session.
It is not about perfection — it’s about learning, growth, and ownership.
It is not a time for discussing academic concerns (these can be addressed separately with the teacher).
It is not a time for the teacher to intervene — students take full responsibility to guide their parents.
Parent Transition – May 23rd @ 14:20

Wondering what it will be like for your child in the next academic year? Is Year 4 really so different to Year 3? How do things change from K to K1?
We invite all parents to join us on May 23rd @ 14:20 to learn about their child’s next year level. This will be a unique opportunity to speak with older students to learn, from their perspective, about the different year groups in the school.
We are hoping to see every family returning next year, meet us on the basketball court at 14:20.

本周，我想分享一些跨校活动的照片。六年级的学生们正在为幼儿园的孩子们制作玩具。他们把玩具模型带到教室试用，并收集“顾客”们的反馈。非常感谢六年级和幼儿园的老师们组织这次合作式校园体验。

부모님 및 보호자 여러분,
As the Year 12 and Year 10 students’ ‘showcase’ their learning to the IB examiners, we have been showcasing other student work in the Secondary school the last few weeks. Here are two of the highlights:
Art and Design display
If you have been in the Secondary building the last couple of weeks you will have seen an incredible transformation of the atrium, filled with fantastic displays of student work. These displays highlight the process as well as the finished product. Each week the display changes, with different Year level work being shown.
Service
Year 6 students have been designing automatons – simple moving mechanical devices – and they got a chance to share their learning and showcase their products with EY classes this week. A great service connection between different parts of the school.
Other recent highlights have included the Year 8 hike up Baiyun Mountain, and the Year 11 Collaborative Science Project. Next week we have our MYP Theatre Week, with performances from our Year 7 and Year 9 students.

亲爱的家长和监护人,
随着12年级和10年级学生向IB考官展示他们的学习成果，我们在过去的几周里也展示了中学其他学生的作业。以下是其中的两个亮点：
艺术与设计展示
如果您前阵子去过中学大楼，您会看到中庭变得很漂亮，里面摆满了学生作品的精彩展示。这些展示突出了制作过程和成品。每周会展示不同年级的作品。
服务
6年级的学生一直在设计简单的移动机械装置——自动机。本周，他们有机会在小学的课堂上分享他们的学习成果，并展示他们的产品。在学校高低年级之间有一个很好的服务连接。
最近的其他亮点包括8年级攀登白云山和11年级合作科学项目。下周我们将举行MYP戏剧周，由7年级和9年级学生表演。
