On Friday 10 November UISG hosted the International Schools Music Association of Guangzhou ‘ISMAG’ Piano Competition 2023 in the Admin Hall.
22 of the finest young pianists from four ISMAG schools performed, representing UISG, AISG (American International School of Guangzhou), CISGZ (Canadian International School of Guangzhou) and Clifford International School.
We were honored to have as our adjudicator, Professor Nicole Liu – Deputy Director of the Performance Department, Associate Professor of Piano and Master Tutor at the School of Music and Dance, Guangzhou University.
Pianists were registered in one of two categories: Primary (8-12 years old) and Secondary (13-18 years old). Each participating school could send up to three representatives per category. All competitors were awarded a ‘School Representative Award’, as they had been selected through their own school piano competitions.

Of the 22 competitors from four schools who entered the ISMAG Piano Competition 2023, we were very proud to have been fully represented in both age categories by six talented UISG students.
