亲爱的家长们：
Another week has flown by, and we are truly getting into the swing of things here in our boarding community. I want to commend our boarding students for smoothly settling into their routines, demonstrating excellent time management skills, and actively engaging in their studies. It’s been wonderful to see them making full use of the resources available to them.
又一个星期过去了，我们的寄宿生活真正进入了正轨。。我想表扬我们的寄宿生，他们顺利适应了自己的的日常生活，表现了出色的时间管理能力，并积极投入到学习中。很高兴看到他们能充分利用现有资源。
This week also served as a reminder not to take things for granted. In a world where convenience often dominates our daily lives, we sometimes forget how things were before. On Tuesday, due to heavy rains, our primary WiFi connection in the boarding house went down. While we waited for the secondary connection to kick in, we took this as an opportunity to pause and reflect on how fortunate we are to have so many wonderful resources. It also reinforced the importance of having a backup plan, as things don’t always go according to plan—a valuable lesson for us all.
本周也提醒我们，不要认为身边的一切都是理所当然的。在当今便利快捷的时代，我们有时会忘记过去的生活是怎样的。周二，由于大雨，我们整栋宿舍的 WiFi 中断了。在等待网络连接的同时，我们借此机会停下来，反思我们是多么的幸运，能拥有如此多的宝贵资源。这也提醒了我们，制定备用计划的重要性，因为事情并不总是按计划进行——这对我们所有人来说都是宝贵的一课。
One of the highlights of my week was observing our evening study lab sessions in action. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting with the Year 6-9 students and listening to each of them read. It was also heartening to walk into the Level 1 common room and see the talented Ms. Ivy supporting our DSE Chemistry students. In the DP study venue, Mr. Patrick was providing math support to eager students. Seeing our students utilize these resources reminded me of how lucky we are to have such dedicated teachers who go above and beyond for our students.
我这周最开心的一件事就是观察我们的晚自习。。我非常喜欢和6-9 年级的学生坐在一起，听他们朗读。走进1楼的公共休息室，看到才华横溢的 Ivy 老师在帮助我们的 DSE 化学学生，也让我倍感振奋。在 DP 自习室，Patrick 老师辅导学生们数学。看到我们的学生利用这些资源，我意识到我们是多么的幸运能有这样敬业的老师为我们的学生提供帮助。
Our weekend boarders had their share of fun as well. They honed their cooking skills at breakfast, played chess, pool, and piano. On Saturday, we enjoyed a meal at Wanda Plaza and treated ourselves to the new *Despicable Me 4* movie at the cinema. Engaging with English in various formats helps reinforce the learning happening during the week. After the movie, we explored the 1978 Cultural Park, where students had the chance to delve into some of China’s rich history. They even got their hands ‘dirty’ decorating and making customized traditional fans. I’m looking forward to seeing what the boarding team gets up to next weekend!
我们的周末寄宿生也玩得很开心。早餐时，他们练习如了何烹饪，还下了棋、打了台球以及弹钢琴。周六，我们在万达广场吃了一顿饭，并在电影院看了新上映的电影《神偷奶爸 4》。通过各种形式接触英语，有助于巩固一周的学习成果。电影结束后，我们参观了 1978 文化公园，学生们有机会深入了解中国深厚的历史。他们甚至自己动手制作传统”。我很期待看到寄宿团队下周末的活动！
