Our Early Years philosophy recognizes and respects the individuality of each child. It acknowledges that children may have preferred or more proficient “languages” for expressing themselves. Some children may excel in visual arts, while others may prefer storytelling or physical play. Understanding and respecting these differences is fundamental for effective teaching and learning. Children are not passive recipients of knowledge but are seen as capable and active inquirers in their own learning. At UISZ, young learners are encouraged to explore, experiment, and choose how they want to express themselves. Educators serve as facilitators and guides, supporting children in their journey of discovery.
At UISZ, we view caring and supportive relationships as the foundation for all learning. Our commitment to these relationships means that we create environments where children feel emotionally safe, supported, and valued. We understand that when children form secure attachments with educators, peers, and families, they are better equipped to explore, learn, and grow. We prioritize providing consistent, responsive care that allows children to trust their surroundings and feel a sense of belonging.
We believe that every child is capable of meaningful learning and growth, and we set ambitious goals to support their development across all domains – physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language. To tailor our approach to the needs of each unique learner, we embrace developmentally appropriate practice inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach’s view of children as strong, capable, and resilient. We consider each child’s individual interests, strengths, and challenges, adapting our teaching methods and curriculum to meet them where they are. We aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued and has equitable access to opportunities for learning and development.
