We have made it to the final week of a truly successful school year – and what a year it has been! Let’s take this last week together to celebrate everything our students have accomplished.

Please note that Thursday, June 18, is a half-day for students, and it is going to be a very special one. We will come together as a community to send everyone off before summer break with joy and gratitude.

As our students head off for a well-deserved, restful summer break, our UISG campus will be buzzing with activity. We have many exciting upgrades and summer projects planned, and we are also in the final stages of preparing for the arrival of our new teachers, who are also very excited to be joining the UISG Community for next year. We cannot wait to share all of this with those joining UISG in August.

What an incredible Friday it was! Our hearts are full as we reflect on the K3 and Grade 5 Moving-Up Ceremony, the Grade 5 Primary Years Exhibition (PYPx), and our wider Celebration of Learning. It was a day filled with pride, joy, and tangible evidence of how much our students have grown as learners and individuals.

周五真是令人难以置信的精彩一天！回顾K3与五年级升学典礼、五年级小学项目成果展（PYPx），以及更广泛的学习庆典，我们的心中满是感动与自豪。这一天充满了骄傲与喜悦，处处可见我们的学生作为学习者和独立个体所取得的切实成长。

Moving-Up Ceremony:

We celebrated two significant transitions within our PYP community:

Our K3 Graduates: We cheered on our youngest learners as they completed their Early Years journey. With confidence and curiosity, they are now ready to step into Primary School, bringing with them the foundational skills of play-based inquiry and social-emotional growth.

Our Grade 5 Graduates: We honored our Grade 5 students who have spent the last eight years immersed in the PYP. They have grown from eager young inquirers into thoughtful, responsible global citizens. As they prepare to move on to Secondary School, we celebrate their resilience, creativity, and academic achievements.

Receiving their diplomas was a proud moment for each student, symbolizing not just the completion of a school year, but the mastery of the IB Learner Profile attributes they have practiced daily.

The Grade 5 Primary Years Exhibition (PYPx)
五年级小学项目成果展（PYPx）

The highlight of the day for many was the PYPx, the culminating project of the Primary Years Programme. This is not just a presentation; it is a synthesis of everything our Grade 5 students have learned about inquiry, research, collaboration, and action.

对许多人而言，当天的亮点莫过于PYPx——这是小学项目的巅峰之作。这不仅仅是一场展示；它是五年级学生们在探究、研究、协作与行动方面所学一切的综合体现。

Students chose real-world issues they are passionate about, from environmental sustainability to social equity, and conducted deep, independent research. Seeing our students explain their processes, challenges, and solutions with such maturity was truly inspiring. They proved that they are not just students, but active contributors to their community.

A Celebration of Learning Across All Grades

Beyond the graduates, our entire Primary School shared in the Celebration of Learning. Our MFH hallway was alive with displays of student work, artistic performances, and interactive projects.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our teachers, especially our Homeroom Teachers and mentors, who guided our students with patience and passion.

This week, our D10 and D11 students sat for their End-of-Year Final Examinations. These assessments provided an important opportunity for students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have cultivated throughout the academic year, while also offering valuable feedback for both students and teachers as we look ahead to the new school year. For D11 students, these exams also served as a key benchmark before they officially enter their D12 year—the final stretch of DSE preparation. We commend all students for their focus, discipline, and perseverance during this demanding period.

This week, our students and teachers came together for an exciting House Competition, with our DSE students actively participating and bringing their characteristic energy and team spirit to the event. Students from different houses competed in a variety of fun and challenging activities, earning points for their teams while building camaraderie across grade levels. The competition was a joyful reminder of the importance of teamwork, school spirit, and healthy fun—especially during a busy week of final assessments. Well done to all houses for the enthusiastic participation!

Grade 10 Students spent the week attending DP classes at UISG this week. Thank you to Ms Alya and Mr Daewoo for being with them this week. Everyone will have had a very tiring week with all that travel. I hope all students have the chance to relax this weekend.
