Please also be reminded that students in Grades 6 through 11 will be taking their summative assessments next week. K–K2: Building Foundations

Our youngest learners have been busy mathematicians and budding readers! They’ve applied measurement skills to real-world tasks and explored the letters that make up their wonderful names, strengthening early literacy, fine motor control, and a growing sense of personal identity.

Our K3, G.1, G.2, and G.3 students have been working side-by-side, testing materials, discussing structural needs, and shaping amazing prototypes of adobe houses. With hands full of mud, sand, and hay, students are exploring where we live and why, investigating how environment, resources, and human needs influence the spaces we build. Through this transdisciplinary unit, they’re developing teamwork, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of sustainability.

Our Grade 4 filmmakers are in full creative swing! Students have been scripting, rehearsing voice recordings, and finalizing handmade costumes. In a brilliant blend of traditional and digital inquiry, they’re also using Minecraft Education to reconstruct the world of their class novel, which will serve as the virtual set for their movie.

The PYP Exhibition is more than a showcase; it’s a celebration of five years of growth as inquirers, thinkers, and compassionate global citizens.

This week, our teachers and students participated in a comprehensive Earthquake Emergency Evacuation Drill. The drill was designed to ensure that every student and staff member understands the correct procedures to follow during an earthquake—from “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” to safe and orderly evacuation routes. Students responded calmly and seriously, following instructions with discipline and efficiency. Regular safety drills like this one are essential in building a culture of preparedness, where everyone feels confident and capable of responding effectively in an emergency. Thank you to all teachers and staff who helped organize and guide this important exercise.

D10 Birthday Celebration

This week, our D10 students took time to celebrate a joyful and heartwarming occasion: the D10 Birthday Celebration. Organized with care and creativity, the event brought classmates together to recognize and honor the birthdays of Coey. There were shared treats, laughter, and plenty of warm wishes. Beyond the cake and candles, this celebration served as a beautiful reminder of the importance of community, belonging, and taking moments to appreciate one another—especially as the academic year enters its final weeks. Happy belated birthday to all our D10 birthday celebrants!

The assembly will also be a time to look ahead with hope and anticipation to the new academic year. All students are expected to attend.

On Saturday, our senior students enjoyed the ‘Sunkissed and Starbound Sunset Soirée Prom’ hosted at the Harbor Plaza Golf Club in Dongguan. It was a lovely evening, the students looked amazing, and there was lots of great dancing.
