What an incredible first week we have shared together! Each day, our vibrant campus has been alive with beaming smiles—students and teachers alike radiating excitement for the year ahead.
The campus echoed with joyful reunions as friends reconnected after summer, while new students quickly felt the warmth of our community. In every classroom, the energy has been electric, with teachers and learners diving into lessons with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Dear PYP Families,
We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates from Primary this week!
The first week of school was absolutely buzzing with energy, students returned with big smiles, renewed enthusiasm, and so much excitement to reconnect with friends and begin new adventures.
During our first assembly, we proudly introduced our new Student Council, represented by our enthusiastic Year 5 students, who are ready to support their peers and help shape a positive school culture. We also unveiled two exciting new traditions: Spirit Days, to celebrate school pride and creativity, and Student Awards. More details on both will be coming soon!
This month, our PYP Cobras from K3 to Year 5 will participate in our Sports Bootcamp featuring football, volleyball, and basketball. This program is designed to build skills, teamwork, and a love for movement. This bootcamp will also serve as the gateway to our Extracurricular Activities (ECAs), where students can choose their favorite sport and potentially represent UISZ in Junior Tournaments across Guangzhou.
Beyond the field, our students will also explore creativity through our new Art Workshops: K–K2 students will enjoy Chinese Art integrated with their Mother Tongue lessons, while K3–Y5 will engage in Nature Art as part of Forest School, using the natural world as their canvas.
We can’t wait to see our students grow in confidence, collaboration, and joy through these exciting experiences!

开学第一周充满了活力，同学们带着灿烂的笑容、焕然一新的热情，以及与朋友重逢、开启新冒险的激动心情返校。
在我们的第一次小学部集会上，我们自豪地介绍了由五年级学生组成的全新学生会，这些充满热情的同学们已准备好支持他们的同学，并共同塑造积极的校园文化。我们还推出了两项令人期待的新传统：精神日，旨在庆祝学校的自豪感和创造力，以及学生奖项。关于这两项活动的更多详情将很快公布！
本月，我校小学部“眼镜蛇队”成员（从大班到五年级）将参与我们的体育训练营，活动内容包括足球、排球和篮球。该项目旨在培养学生的运动技能、团队合作精神以及对运动的热爱。此次训练营还将作为我校课外活动（ECAs）的入门环节，学生可在此选择自己喜爱的运动项目，并有机会代表UISZ参加广州地区的小型锦标赛。
在课堂之外，我们的学生还将通过全新的艺术工作坊探索创造力：K–K2年级的学生将享受与母语课程相结合的中国艺术，而K3–Y5年级的学生则将参与森林学校的自然艺术活动，以自然世界作为他们的创作画布。

First Week Highlights:
· Orientation Success: Thank you to our mentors and teachers for making newcomers feel at home.
· Spirit Week Ahead: Get ready for team-building activities (ice breaking activicties), and the ECAs. We will have Academic and Talent activities on Monday and Wednesday (including IELTS, Math Olympics, MUN, Business Simulation, music, Taichi and a lot more fun), and ACAMIS Game coaching (Volleyball, Football, and Basketball) on Tuesday and Thursday.
· 2-day Weekend for D12 students: D12 students will have a 2-day break next weekend (Aug 22nd).
Our Shared Commitment:
