We want to thank all parents and students for their presence today on campus and the constructive discussions held on academics and well-being matters. Constructive home-school partnership is key to success, and we are confident that today’s parents-students-teachers conferences will help everyone, especially on this last stretch to the end of this academic year.
Three major events lie ahead of us in the coming week. First, please join us tomorrow, Saturday, 23 on UISG grounds for the UEF Family Day. Lots of fun events in arts and sports, as well as food booths and lucky draw (two two-days/one night spa packages)
Information, such as the programme and the transportation routes should have come out to ManageBac and various WeChat group. It’s going to be a fun, active, and energizing day for all!

Uniform: Kind reminder that the school uniform is mandatory for all K1 to Year 10 students, without exception. We made some exceptions during the cooler days, but this is something that should no longer happen until the end of the year. Thank you all for your collaboration!

Boarders will be welcome back on Sunday, April 7 from 7:00pm, and day students on Monday, April 8 from 8:00 am to 8:30 am.

PYP 国际文凭小学课程 초등교육과정
Over the past few weeks, our K3 learners in Chinese class have studied the unit of Fruits. Our learners not only learned a lot of fruit vocabulary, but were also able to creatively draw a variety of interesting fruits. We learned to sing “Fruit Song” and express our preference for fruits. Appreciate for their boundless creativity and courageous display of themselves!
On Friday, the “Parent-teacher conference” of this semester was successfully held in two forms: a Three-way Conference of “Parents &Teachers & Students” and a “Student-Led conference”. This was an excellent opportunity for students to show their learning achievements to their parents. It was also a great opportunity for parents and teachers to communicate and exchange ideas with each other. The purpose was to promote home-school co-education, which would benefit for students’ whole person education.
在过去的几周里，我们K3中文班的学习者们学习了水果这一主题单元。我们的学习者不仅认识了许多水果的词汇，还能够创意十足地绘画出各种妙趣横生的水果。我们学会了唱《水果歌》，并且学习了表达对水果的喜好。为孩子们的无限创意和勇敢地展示自我点赞！
在周五，本学期的家长会，以“家长、教师、学生”的三方会议和“学生主导”两种方式圆满召开。这是学生向家长展示学习成果的绝佳机会，同时也是家长、教师互相交流对学生教育观点的一大契机。目的都是为了做好家校共育，更好地促进学生的全人教育。
지난 몇 주 동안 중국어 수업의 K3 학습자들은 과일 단원을 공부했습니다. 학생들은 과일 어휘를 많이 배웠을 뿐만 아니라 다양하고 흥미로운 과일을 창의적으로 그릴 수 있었습니다. 우리는 “과일 노래”를 부르고 과일에 대한 선호도를 표현하는 법을 배웠습니다. 아이들의 무한한 창의력과 용기 있는 모습에 박수를 보냅니다!
지난 금요일, 이번 학기의 ‘학부모-교사 회의’는 ‘학부모-교사-학생’의 3자 회의와 ‘학생 주도 회의’의 두 가지 형태로 성공적으로 진행되었습니다. 학생들이 자신의 학습 성과를 부모님께 보여드릴 수 있는 좋은 기회였습니다. 또한 학부모와 교사가 서로 소통하고 아이디어를 교환할 수 있는 좋은 기회이기도 했습니다. 이 행사의 목적은 학생들의 전인 교육에 도움이 되는 가정과 학교의 공동 교육을 장려하는 것이었습니다.
MYP 国际文凭中学课程 중등교육과정
We have reached the midpoint of our second semester. It has been one filled opportunity for our students to showcase their skills and their learning. This past week, our Year 10 students shared the end results of their personal projects via an exhibition for the USIZ community. These students have put in many hours of research, preparation, and meeting time with mentors to pursue a topic of their own interest while documenting each step of the journey along the way. Our Year 10 students also participated in mock e-Assessments in preparation for the MYP e-Assessment examinations to be held in May. Taking these exams not only offers students the chance to earn the MYP certificate, but they also provide a preview of the rigors of the IB Diploma Program. Interdisciplinary units in the MYP are in full swing. The IB requires all MYP students to participate in one interdisciplinary unit per academic year. In an interdisciplinary unit, a minimum of two teachers from different subjects come together to plan learning experiences that overlaps two or more subject areas with a culminating product and reflection. This past week, our Year 8 students completed a class collage about the features of Peking Opera and its relevance to Chinese culture as a part of an interdisciplinary unit between music and humanities. We look forward to more exciting projects as a part of MYP interdisciplinary units. Student-led conferences involving students, teachers, and parents are scheduled for Friday, March 22nd and we encourage all parents to attend to allow your child to share their learning in their MYP journey.

DP 国际文凭大学预科课程 디플로마 과정
Students in the Y11 TOK (Theory of Knowledge) class have been exploring the Human Sciences area of knowledge (AOK) this week. Specifically how it’s research methodology both intertwines with, and diverges from Natural Sciences. Quantifying ‘happiness’ has been the topic today, and we have been looking at the Harvard study – of a group of men – that has been ongoing since 1938. An astonishing 80 years. The finding show conclusively that it isn’t wealth and fame that make you happy – but rather, positive, supportive relationships with others. Food for thought.

We are delighted to share the highlights of this week, which was marked by the successful conclusion of our mid-term examinations and the insightful school-parent meeting.
Our students have shown remarkable dedication and perseverance during the mid-term examinations. The results reflect their hard work, with an overall improvement in grades across all subjects. We are particularly proud of the progress made by students who had previously struggled, demonstrating the effectiveness of our targeted support strategies.
The school-parent meeting provided a platform for open dialogue about our students’ academic progress, challenges, and future plans. We appreciate the active involvement of parents in these discussions, which are crucial for aligning our efforts towards the students’ success. The meeting highlighted the importance of continuous learning, resilience, and adaptability. Parents and teachers agreed on the need for additional support in certain subjects and discussed strategies to enhance student engagement and participation.
In response to the feedback received during the meeting, we are excited to announce several new initiatives. These include a school-wide environmental project, a mentoring program for new students, and additional resources for our science and technology curriculum.
