Our teachers and TA’s spent Thursday and Friday as students where they engaged in enriching workshops. They deepened their understanding with curricular matters as well as well-being ones. Special thanks to our TA’s who received a much welcome training in PYP.

Please note that students from Early Years to Year 10 must wear their school uniforms on picture days. Also, needless to say that we expect our DSE/DP to dress-up a notch higher on those days as well.

PYP 国际文凭小学课程 초등교육과정
In our UOI, How we express ourselves, K3/Y1 class has been focusing their learning about signs and symbols. Learners explored and investigated signs in the school and further their learning by studying and experiencing more road signs and the adventure park signs during the field trips on the Days Without Walls.
Learners have deepened their understanding about the study of symbols as they collaborated with the Y2 class. The Y2 class has been inquiring in their UOI about culture and traditions. Learners have discovered symbols associated with some celebrations like the Easter, Christmas, and Diwali. In STEAM, Design Thinking was introduced and used to create one of the Christmas symbols in the Philippines–the “Star Lantern.” Then, both classes collaborated further to express themselves in creating Rangoli, one of the symbols learned from the Diwali festival of India.
Collaboration with Y2 class has been very beneficial to all learners academically and socially. These learning experiences have helped foster the development of the students’ creativity, collaborative skills, social skills, open-mindedness, and global mindedness.

MYP 国际文凭中学课程 중등교육과정
MYP Mathematics students began the new quarter by revising the previous topics learnt last quarter. This makes it easier for better understanding of the new topic now. The students are currently learning Functions, types and its applications. With this topic, they were able to understand the concept of linear and quadratic functions with applications to real life problems. In addition, this topic is a prerequisite in IB DP Maths which makes it important for students. The feedbacks from their assessments showed that the students grasp deep understanding of it.

DP 国际文凭大学预科课程 디플로마 과정
DP Year 11 Chemistry students have learnt the topic of atomic structure and periodicity. The trends in the periodic table and how those trends affect the chemical properties of elements and molecules were included. Students toward gaining a more complete understanding of chemical bonding and structure. They applied theoretical models to illustrate ionic bonding, covalent bonding and metallic bonding.
DP Y12 Chemistry students just finished organic chemistry. We have focused our studies on course content for paper 1 and paper 2, and started preparations for Internal Assessment by developing practical skills required for IB Chemistry. In the coming months, we have to cover most of the curriculum for this course, which will be a big challenge for us.

HKDSE 香港中学文凭课程 홍콩 중등교육과정 프로그램
In order to increase the diversity of economic classroom activities and train students’ ability to apply knowledge, this week we introduced the rules and usage of the Monopoly game to students. This game mainly simulates some economic transaction activities, which involve “buying a house or land”. It can train students’ “business” ability, they can also experience the “thrilling” battle of wits and courage with friends and learn in fun.
为了增加经济课堂活动的多样性及锻炼同学们运用知识的能力，本周给同学们介绍了”大富翁”游戏的规则以及使用方法，该游戏主要是模拟一些经济交易活动，里面涉及“买房买地”，可以锻炼一下同学们“经商”的能力，还可以体验和朋友斗智斗勇的“惊心感”，寓学于乐。
경제 수업 활동의 다양성을 높이고 학생들의 지식 적용 능력을 키우기 위해 이번 주에는 학생들에게 모노폴리 게임의 규칙과 사용법을 소개했습니다. 이 게임은 주로 “집이나 토지 구매”와 관련된 일부 경제 거래 활동을 시뮬레이션합니다. 학생들의 “비즈니스” 능력을 훈련할 수 있으며, 친구들과 함께 “스릴 넘치는” 기지와 용기의 전투를 경험하고 재미있게 배울 수 있습니다.

UISZ – Tianjin 2023 – Volleyball tournament
UISZ’s participation in Tianjin’s ACAMIS volleyball tournament was marked with excitement, hard work, and some misfortune along the way. The team’s journey was a testament to their great teamwork and determination to improve their gameplay.
The journey began with high spirits and anticipation for the tournament. The girls had been training for months, honing their skills and perfecting their strategies. As they stepped onto the court for their first match, a sense of nervous energy filled the air. However, it quickly dissipated as the team settled into their rhythm and showcased their talent.
Throughout the tournament, UISZ faced formidable opponents and encountered several challenges. Some matches were fiercely fought, pushing the team to their limits both physically and mentally. However, the girls never wavered. Their strong bond and unwavering support for one another propelled them forward, enabling them to overcome any obstacles that came their way.
As the tournament progressed, UISZ’s gameplay improved significantly. They seamlessly executed their plays, displayed exceptional agility, and demonstrated outstanding teamwork. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, and it was evident that their hard work was paying off. The team’s unity and dedication were reflected in each game they played.
However, despite their best efforts, UISZ encountered a stroke of misfortune in the semi-finals. A well-fought match ended in a defeat, leaving the team heartbroken. Tears were shed, and emotions ran high, but the girls quickly gathered themselves and remembered the importance of resilience. They dusted themselves off and braced themselves for the fight for third place.
In the battle for the third-place position, UISZ once again showcased their spirit and determination. They played with their hearts on their sleeves, leaving everything on the court. The team’s efforts paid off, and they secured a well-deserved third-place finish. The joy and relief were palpable as they celebrated their achievement.
Despite the ups and downs of the tournament, UISZ’s participation in Tianjin’s ACAMIS volleyball tournament was a positive experience overall. The team’s good vibe and positive attitude were contagious, not just among themselves but also among their opponents and spectators. The players’ sportsmanship and camaraderie left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
As the tournament came to an end, UISZ expressed their gratitude to the parents who supported them throughout their journey. The unwavering encouragement and presence of some of their families in the stands kept their spirits high during both triumphs and tribulations. Additionally, the school community was acknowledged for their constant support and belief in the team’s potential.
Looking back on their accomplishments, UISZ’s participation in Tianjin’s ACAMIS volleyball tournament was a stepping stone towards further success. The team’s hard work, improved gameplay, and remarkable resilience have set a solid foundation for their future endeavours. UISZ – 天津 2023 – 排球锦标赛
在参加天津 ACAMIS 排球赛的过程中，我们既有激情澎湃、竭尽所能的时候，也有和运气擦肩而过的瞬间。队员们一路走来，展现了她们出色的团队合作精神和追求更高竞技表现的决心。
这趟旅程在兴奋和期待中出发。女孩们经过数月的训练，技巧逐渐完善，战术日臻成熟。当她们踏上球场展开第一场比赛时，空气中弥漫着紧张气息。不过，随着队员们渐入佳境并展示出自己的能力，这种紧张感很快就消失了。
在整个比赛过程中，我们的球队遇到过强大的对手，也遇到过一些挑战。有些比赛打得非常激烈，大家的体力和精神状态都发挥到了极限。然而，女孩们从未动摇过。她们之间强大的凝聚力和对彼此坚定的支持推动着她们前进，使她们能够克服眼前的困难。

톈진의 ACAMIS 배구 토너먼트에 참가한 UISZ의 여정은 흥분과 노력, 그리고 약간의 아쉬움으로 기억될 것입니다. 팀의 여정은 훌륭한 팀워크와 게임 플레이를 개선하려는 결의를 보여주는 증거였습니다.
이번 여정은 대회에 대한 기대감으로 들뜬 마음으로 시작되었습니다. 소녀들은 몇 달 동안 훈련하며 기술을 연마하고 전략을 완성해 왔습니다. 첫 경기를 위해 코트에 들어섰을 때 긴장된 기운이 공기를 가득 채웠습니다. 그러나 팀이 리듬을 찾고 재능을 발휘하면서 긴장감은 금세 사라졌습니다.
