Every year, the anticipation of a new school year lingers in the air as students and families prepare for the journey ahead. This year was no exception at UISZ, where the school community gathered for a memorable New Orientation Day that set the stage for a year of learning, growth, and connections.

In the New Orientation Day, it is with great excitement and anticipation that we extend our warmest welcome to our new students, as well as their families.
The event began with a warm welcome from the school’s dedicated staff members, who greeted both new Family with genuine smiles and a palpable enthusiasm. The atmosphere was one of excitement, as the school’s leadership and faculty came together to extend a heartfelt welcome to everyone who stepped foot on the campus.
In the secondary school theater, a holistic introduction was conducted by school leadership team member. The head of school Mr. Sebastien Pelletier introduced our UISZ history, mission, vision and values. The head of primary school Ms. Tara O’Brien sent her best greetings and warm welcome to our new family in primary community. And the heads of boarding school department Mr.Nicolas Hayman and Ms.Lindsey Walsh shared their exciting expectation for students’ second home in new school year.
Apart from the welcome speech by senior leadership team, our new parents and students also were met with well-organized registration tables, each staffed by friendly faces ready to assist with the necessary paperwork and inquiries. The efficiency of the registration process, coupled with the staff’s approachable natureshowcased the school’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for all students and their families.

Beyond the administrative logistics, the Orientation Day was a chance for families to immerse themselves in the school’s culture and ethos——Explore, Adapt and Impact. Interactive sessions were held to introduce families to the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) curriculum, highlighting the holistic and internationally-minded approach to education that UISZ is renowned for. These sessions not only clarified academic expectations but also ignited a sense of curiosity among parents and students alike.
As the ending part of the new orientation day, new students and their families went to their second home—Dragon House with their luggage. Our boarding faculty warmly welcome and introduce them to the new refurnished dormitory.
