We had a very successful Book Week this week and a memorable Earth Day today! We loved taking breaks and Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R) all this week and see the Fashion show earlier today.
这个星期，我们的“图书周”活动举办得非常成功，还有“地球日”活动，真是令人难忘！大家都很享受在这周歇一下，参与到 “放下一切去阅读” (D.E.A.R) 的行动中，并在今天早些时候欣赏到学生们的时装表演。
이번 주 책의 주간은 매우 성공적이었고, 지구의 날도 정말 특별한 시간이었습니다! 우리는 이번주 내내 매일 잠시 시간을 내어 ‘모든 것을 내려놓고 읽기(D.E.A.R)’를 즐겼고, 오늘은 패션쇼를 관람했습니다.
As we enter this long weekend, we must think of our Year 12 who start their DP exams this coming Monday. They will soon enter Dragon House Sunday night, ready to start the very last stretch of their secondary schooling. They ready to do their best and to make us all proud. They are ready!
惬意的长周末近在眼前，而想到我们12年级的同学们，下周一就要开始他们的DP考试了。周日晚上，他们就会回到宿舍，准备冲刺他们中学生涯的最后阶段。他们准备好了要做到最好，要让大家为他们骄傲。他们已经蓄势待发！
긴 주말에 접어들면서 이번 주 월요일부터 DP 시험을 시작하는 12학년 학생들을 생각하지 않을 수 없습니다. 학생들은 곧 일요일 밤 드래곤 하우스에 입소하여 중고등 과정의 마지막을 시작할 준비를 할 것입니다. 학생들은 최선을 다해 우리 모두를 자랑스럽게 만들 준비가 되어 있습니다. 화이팅!

On-site College Counselling: We are happy to inform that UISZ has teamed up with UISG to offer College Counseling services. Ms Ye In Oh, College Counselor will spend three full days at UISZ where she will give presentations to our Year 11 DP and DSE students and will also offer individual sessions with our students. The dates of her visit will be May 9, May 23, and June 6. She has access to BridgeU.

Online Counselling: please note that the school has retained the services of a Hong Kong’s reputable Counseling firm to complement our students support programme. Students can meet the counselor online from Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This service is available until June 16. Ms Lindsey Walsh will be our new onsite Counselor from the beginning of the school year 2023.

In recent days, we learnt about Chingming festival in Chinese class. Our brilliant learners shared our productive outcomes in Chinese assembly through singing ancient poems,telling Chingming legend stories,watching cultural videos and other aspects.At the same time,all students in primary had a chance to have a look at the famous painting of Chingming shanghetu.This is a valuable experience for students to learn Chinese culture.

We keep our routine activity of “Daily sharing”——They shared a lot of topics, for example,“author of Qijun”，“Function of PowerPoint——Technology for learning”etc.They prepared and present in our class actively. Not only they have improved their public speaking skills a lot， but also they feel more confident in presenting in the public.

This week our students began by brainstorming to analyze and compare 3 proses as many potentially important concepts and techniques as possible. They used mind-map to share their group work.
学生们这周开始进行头脑风暴，从概念、写作技巧等角度出发，把之前探究的三篇文本进行对比分析。学生们这次运用了思维导图的方式把小组分工合作的成果完美地呈现出来。

Also，it is Book Week！Reading is a part of Chinese Language and Literature learning. Everyone has a reading book they chose as their routine reading book.As George Martin said，A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.

DP Year 11 Physics students are currently learning about electricity and magnetism. The students were able to solve problems involving electric fields and Coulomb’s law, identify drift speed of charge carriers and other terms in this content with applications to real life problems.

In this week’s physics class, we were devoted to the unit ” circular movement “. When a particle moves on a circle with a radius of r and a point as the center of the circle, that is, when the particle moves, its trajectory is circular, it is called “circular movement “. It is one of the most common curvilinear motions. Here are the examples of circular movement: a satellite following its trajectory, a stone attached to a rope and swinging in circles, a racing car turning on a track, an electron entering a mean magnetic field vertically, a gear turning in a machine (either on its surface or inside), a belt drive, the wheels of a train, and a turning track. In class, students have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of circular motion by solving problems in the textbook.
