Greetings from UISZ!!!!
大家好！！！
We are now two weeks aways from the end of this academic year. Students are actively preparing their summative assessments (secondary) and are reflecting on the various experiences they lived this whole year. Several events will also take place, with moving on ceremonies, International Day, UPAZ meeting, and Spring Performance. We are looking forward to see our parents on June 2 and 14!
现在，离本学年结束只有两周时间了。同学们正在积极准备他们的总结性测评(中学)，并回顾这一整年的各种生活经历。接下来，陆续登场的还有好几项活动，包括各式庆典、“国际日”、“UPAZ”会议和春季演出。期待着家长们在6月2日和6月14日参与!
이제 이번 학년도 종강이 2주 앞으로 다가왔습니다. 학생들은 기말고사( 중고등부)를 적극적으로 준비하면서 올 한 해 동안 살아온 다양한 경험을 되돌아보고 있습니다. 또한 졸업식, 인터내셔널 데이, UPAZ 회의, 춘계 발표회 등 여러 행사가 열릴 예정입니다. 6월 2일과 14일에 부모님들을 뵙기를 기대하고 있겠습니다!
Year 12 Graduation this Friday:
At the time of reading these lines, the UISZ community is honoring the Class of 2023 during the Year 12 Graduation. We take this opportunity to congratulate them, and wish them good luck as they enter their adult life. We also thank them for the beautiful moment they made us all live at school. They will certainly represent our school in a stellar way!

이 글을 읽는 이 순간, UISZ 커뮤니티는 2023학년 12학년 졸업식을 진행하고 있습니다. 졸업을 진심으로 축하하며 성인으로서의 삶을 시작하는 이들에게 행운이 함께하기를 기원합니다. 또한 우리 모두가 학교에서 생활할 수 있게 해준 아름다운 순간에 감사드립니다. 졸업생들은 우리 학교를 훌륭하게 대표할 것입니다!

UPAZ meeting June 2!!!
he members of the SLT will be pleased to meet all parents on June 2, just before the Spring Performance. During this conversation, parents will have the chance to know more on the incoming staff, as well as academic improvements. The event will start at 11:00 am and will run with Questions and answers until 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served before the spring performance starts at 1:45 pm. While it will not be possible to visit the new school, we will provide information on how the relocation will take place, with several images on the development of the new campus.

멤버들은 봄 정기 발표회 직전인 6월 2일에 모든 학부모님들을 만나게 되어 무척 기쁩니다. 이번 만남에서 학부모님들은 새로 부임하는 교직원과 학업 향상에 대해 더 많이 알 수 있는 기회를 갖게 될 것입니다. 행사는 오전 11시에 시작하여 오후 12시 30분까지 질문과 답변을 나누는 시간을 갖습니다. 점심은 오후 1시 45분 춘계 공연이 시작되기 전에 제공될 예정입니다. 새 학교를 직접 둘러볼 수는 없지만, 이전이 어떻게 진행될지에 대한 정보를 제공하고 새 캠퍼스 개발과 관련된 여러 이미지를 보여드릴 예정입니다.
Online Counselling:
We are pleased to inform that all secondary students were introduced to Ms Lucy Lau, our Whole School Counselor during their house period last Wednesday. This is a kind reminder that students can meet the counselor online from Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This service is available until June 16. Ms Lindsey Walsh will be our new onsite Counselor from the beginning of the school year 2023.

Recently, Year 8 students Leo and Jasmine inquired education-related topics in Chinese Language acquisition class. They compared the similarities and differences between Chinese education, Korean education and American education. At the same time, they also studied The Definition of a Good Child, a speech by a famous author Mr. Lin Qingxuan. Afterwards, they interviewed the teachers and students of the community on the question of “good child in my eyes”. They also made a video separately to talk about: what kind of students could be cultivated in successful education.
近期，八年级的Leo和Jasmine同学在中文课上探究了教育相关的话题。他们比较了中国教育、韩国教育和美国教育的异同。同时，他们也研读了林清玄先生的一篇演讲稿——《好孩子的定义》。随后，他们就“我眼中的好孩子”这一问题采访了学校师生。他们还分别制作了一个视频来谈论：成功的教育应该培养出怎样的学生。

HKDSE 香港中学文凭课程
The redox reactions unit has been started. The students studied what reduction and oxidation is and how it is applied in current and future technologies. Examples including how batteries work and how those same principles can be used in future technologies such as the hydrogen fuel cell. They studied the advantages and disadvantages of different energy sources and how they are converted to be useful. They also explored the different ways both oxidation and reduction can be considered and introduced the idea of oxidation number, which can be a useful tool in solving redox titration problems in volumetric chemistry.
我们正学习氧化还原这一单元。同学们学习了氧化还原的定义以及如何把氧化还原应用到目前和将来的科技中。这当中包括了“电池的工作原理”以及如何把这些原理应用到未来的技术里，例如氢燃料电池的应用。他们也比较了不同能源的优缺点以及如何才能更好地利用这些能源。同学们还探究了氧化和还原的不同表达方式，还引入了氧化数的概念，从而更好地解决氧化还原滴定所遇到的问题。
산화 환원 반응 단원이 시작되었습니다. 학생들은 환원과 산화가 무엇이며 현재와 미래의 기술에 어떻게 적용되는지 공부했습니다. 배터리의 작동 원리와 수소 연료 전지와 같은 미래 기술에서 동일한 원리가 어떻게 사용될 수 있는지 등을 예로 들었습니다. 학생들은 다양한 에너지원의 장단점과 이를 유용하게 변환하는 방법을 연구했습니다. 또한 산화와 환원을 고려할 수 있는 다양한 방법을 탐구하고 부피 화학에서 산화 환원 적정 문제를 해결하는 데 유용한 도구가 될 수 있는 산화수 개념을 소개했습니다.
