Year 12 CAS Class

As we all know, CAS is at the heart of the Diploma Programme. CAS is not only designed to strengthen and extend students’ learning from the PYP and MYP, but also provides opportunities for students’ self-determination, collaboration, accomplishment and enjoyment.

The first learning objective is to recognize and consider the ethical issues in CAS experience in our Year 12 CAS Class this week. The seventh CAS learning outcome is often one of the most challenging of the CAS learning outcomes for students to identify and understand. Therefore, we had this discussion about it in order to provide our students with more guidance in developing appropriate responses to situations involving ethical issues.

The second learning objective is to enhance students’ CAS reflection ability. Though our students’ own CAS portfolio and other IB students’ portfolio samples, the students have demonstrated more deeper understanding of the four elements of CAS reflection, and the meaning of CAS reflection.

HKDSE

This week’s economics class mainly learned three basic economic problems: what to produce? For whom? How to produce? As well as production and division of labor, production cycle flow chart, and types of different items. In order to make students more fully familiar with and memorize relevant knowledge points, this week’s homework is to let students draw a mind map according to the knowledge points they have learned. Each student’s mind map is completed very carefully, with different styles, and gives full play to their own advantages. Secondly, the students showed the small entrepreneurship plan in the form of groups based on the knowledge points in this chapter. After sharing the plan, the students commented on the parts that each member is responsible for. They learned to appreciate others, learn from each other, and make progress together!
