Online Learning Schedule Guidelines

Good afternoon Primary parents,
各位小学部家长，下午好：
Thank you for your patience as we plan for adjusting to online learning. Learning will look a little bit different in Primary compared to Secondary, as younger-aged students have different and unique learning needs, expectations and requirements with online learning (and learning in general).
在我们计划适应线上学习的过程中，感谢您的耐心等候。小学和中学的线上学习看起来会有些不同，因为年纪小的学生对在线学习(和一般的学习)有不同和独特的学习需求、期望和要求。
The ONLINE learning schedule:
Please note that each day there will be 3 times that primary students can join remotely online. This was determined after parent, teacher, and student feedback regarding the frequency of video conference calls.

Effort has been put towards ensuring that each day the homeroom teacher connects with all students, and that each week all specialist teachers have also connected with students.

All primary teachers will be posting learning tasks daily on SeeSaw for all students to participate and complete at their own pace (asynchronous learning). Students working from home can complete work according to their own schedule throughout the day, and be able to ask questions at any time via SeeSaw or TEAMS, and also speak to their teacher during the scheduled call times (indicated in purple).
所有小学老师每天将在Seesaw上发布学习任务，让所有学生按自己的节奏参与和完成(非同步学习)。在家学习的学生可以根据自己的日程安排完成工作，可以通过SeeSaw或TEAMS随时提问，也可以在预定的通话时间(紫色)与老师交谈。
*Online calls should not exceed 15/20 minutes for primary-aged students. We want to limit their screen time and be aware of their attention spans. Parents, please be aware you will likely need to help primary-aged children to connect online via TEAMS.

Please find attached your child’s particular ONLINE schedule going forward. We will see how everything goes, please do not hesitate to let me know if you run into any problems along the way so we can work together to make things better.

EARLY YEARS
Optional online learning — K1 & K2 with Ms. Valen
A selection of 9 activities and 2-3 stories are sent via Seesaw for home learners each week. Video calls for students to connect with the teacher and their classmates happen 3 times per week (M/W/F) and will occur via WeChat. (The homeroom teacher will organize these optional video calls).
K3 AND YEAR 1
Online learning has 2 components
video conference calls for teacher instruction and feedback and learning activities and tasks that students can complete at their own pace at home. For online learning, primary students will have a chance to participate in an online call with teachers 3 times a day. All learning tasks will be posted on Seesaw.
