At Utahloy International School and CNH,
we believe that transformative learning happens beyond the classroom, on mountainsides, along coastlines, and in the wild spaces where students discover their own resilience. But great adventures are built on a foundation of great safety.
That’s why we are proud to offer two upcoming professional development workshops designed to equip educators with the skills, confidence, and internationally recognised credentials to lead experiential education at the highest standard.

Foundations of Adventure Safety
May 1–2, 2026 | UISG Campus

Risk management is not about saying “no”, it’s about saying “yes” with confidence. This 16hour course, delivered by Viristar, is essential for anyone who designs, leads, or supports outdoor or travel programmes. Through case studies, roleplaying, and seminar discussions, participants will learn:
- How to prevent and mitigate incidents
- Legal concepts and safety standards for schools and providers
- Emergency response planning and incident reporting
- Systems thinking and human factors in safety culture
Graduates receive a Viristar certificate valid for three years—a credential that signals a commitment to excellence in risk management.

Why This Matters
Every teacher who accompanies students on camps, every instructor who leads a climb, every coordinator who plans an expedition—all share the same responsibility: bringing students home safely, enriched by the experience.

UIS and CNH are not just running programmes. We are raising the standard for experiential education in China. By investing in high-quality safety training, we empower our educators to lead with competence, care, and confidence.
Spaces are limited. These workshops are designed for those who step off the beaten path and take responsibility for those who follow.
