Under the HKDSE system, students are required to take four compulsory “core subjects” (Chinese, English, Mathematics, Civic and Social Development) and choose two of the six electives (Economics, Physics, Chemistry, History, Tourism and Hospitality and Mathematics Extended part I/II) and Physical Education to ensure whole-person development.

UISZ has a teaching team composed of academic teachers, moral education teachers, special full-time homeroom teachers, college planning guidance teachers and other teachers with different roles. It gathers all its strength to accompany students in high school and “customize your future”.
Physics Teacher
Jordan Zhang
Hello everyone, I am Jordan. I mainly teach mathematics and physics courses. I have more than ten years of teaching experience in international courses. I have also taught content in different international course systems such as A-level, AP, IG, and DSE. Therefore, during the teaching process, I will combine the characteristics of the students and choose the simplest and easiest method to teach and let students understand mathematics and physics knowledge faster and easier. I am also keen on basketball and believe that a strong body can bring strong motivation to study. I hope that more students who like mathematics and physics can join my class and let us discover and explore the rules and mysteries of nature together.

I have experience studying, serving, and teaching in America, England, and China. I attended 12 years of public school in China as an ordinary child. Then, as I was pursuing higher education in America, I started assisting professors in tutoring English to new college students. As the opportunity arose, I participated in a service program In England, serving and teaching people of all age groups. I found my passion for education. Soon after the program, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Upon returning to my home country, China, I worked in the IB PYP program for two years. Then, seeking personal improvement, I continued my journey as a lifelong learner and obtained a Master’s degree in Teaching. With my educational background and teaching experience, I am eager to guide and assist more learners in their journey of learning the English language and experiencing the culture behind it.

My name is Ivy Liu, I got my master’s degree in chemical engineering and teaching certificate in Guangzhou University. I have 14 years of experience in teaching MYP Science and DP Chemistry in UISZ. With rich experience in e-Assessment, personal project, internal and extended essay of IB program, I have ability to make profound contributions both in and out of the classroom. As a service as action coordinator, I have taken on the responsibilities of the role with supporting students to build authentic connections between what they learn in the classroom and what they encounter in the community. I am a dedicated and hard-working individual, with a passion for learning and facilitating the learning of others. And This is my first year as a teacher teaching DP Chemistry and HKDSE Chemistry. As a teacher, I can offer students much as well, in terms of academic knowledge, life experience and passion.

Hello everyone, I’m Casey Han, and I’m thrilled to be joining the UISZ team. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management and a Master’s degree in Economics. Since graduating, I have been dedicated to international curriculum education, specializing in bilingual learning methods, examination focuses, and test-taking skills. During my tenure as an A-level/AP Economics teacher at an international department in Guangzhou, my teaching style, which is relaxed and humorous, has been well-received by students. I excel at using real-life examples to interact with students and explain economic principles in an accessible manner, leading to significant teaching achievements. I deeply understand the learning content and psychological structure of different age groups, which allows me to simplify complex knowledge, summarize patterns, and guide students in organizing knowledge points and solving problems independently. I am passionate about fostering a love for economics in students and firmly believe that education is not just the transmission of knowledge but also the process of inspiring students’ potential and cultivating their ability to think independently and solve problems. Hello, I’m Baobao. As a Chinese teacher in an international school, I firmly believe that language education is not just about teaching vocabulary and grammar, but also about helping students build confidence and cultivating their cross-cultural awareness, critical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. I believe that language education should be a comprehensive developmental process, where students not only learn the language but also enhance their overall competence. I graduated with a major in Chinese International Education and have seven years of teaching experience, including two years working in an international school. This rich teaching experience has given me a deep understanding of the multicultural environment in international schools and the individualized learning needs of students. In my personal teaching approach, I focus on igniting students’ interest in learning by using lively and engaging classroom activities and practical examples to help students grasp language skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
