Our House Assembly this week centered on the IB Learner Profile attribute Caring—a value deeply woven into our classroom communities. This assembly relates to our Bullying Awareness Week, in which students shared kind actions they’ve witnessed and discussed how small gestures can make a big difference.

On Thursday, we held our termly fire drill—an essential part of our commitment to student well-being. In the PYP, safety routines like this support learners in developing self-management and responsibility. Our students practiced evacuating quietly and calmly, demonstrating impressive focus and cooperation. Regular drills ensure that everyone, students and staff alike, knows how to respond safely in an emergency.

Healthy Eating in PSPE: Nourishing Body and Mind

This week, our PSPE (Personal, Social and Physical Education) learning came alive through a hands-on exploration of healthy habits. In the PYP, PSPE helps students understand how choices impact their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

We took our inquiry to the school canteen, where learners discovered which foods give us energy, help us grow, and keep us healthy. The highlight? Preparing and enjoying their very own fruit salad! Not only did they chop (with safe tools!), mix, and taste, but they also reflected on how eating well helps us learn, play, and care for ourselves.

The excitement is palpable as our students dive into ECAS Season 2! This term’s programme is bursting with joyful exploration, creative expression, and new friendships.

From robotics and soccer to ceramics, students are engaging in activities that nurture their IB Learner Profile attributes, especially open-minded, balanced, and risk-takers.

This week, Hong Kong has become the most vibrant classroom for our D10 and 11 students! Our “Week Without Walls” is in full swing. Students have been exploring the ecology in Sai Kung Country Park, experiencing coastal rock climbing, abseiling, and participating in beach clean-ups. This experience has truly connected classroom knowledge with the real world, allowing students to learn to view the city we live in from a fresh perspective. The Week Without Walls is not just about learning—it’s an adventure in personal growth. We look forward to welcoming our students back with newfound insights and memorable experiences.

According to the academic schedule, the D12 cohort will officially undertake their Second Mock Examination next week. This assessment is designed to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of revision since the beginning of the term, helping students to further familiarize themselves with the exam format, refine time management skills, and provide critical diagnostics for fine-tuning final preparation strategies. We encourage all students to prepare diligently, maintain a positive mindset, and face this challenge with their best effort. We wish everyone success in achieving their desired results!

Summative Assessments 期末评估
Summative assessment week (December 8-12th) is approaching. This is a week set aside in our calendar that serves as a deadline for end of unit testing. Students may complete some subject assessments prior to this week.
总结评估周（12月8-12日）就要来啦！下周是我们计划中预留的单元测试截止时间，一些科目可能在这周之前就完成了。
In order to prepare for these end of unit assessments, it’s important that students are checking the resources on ManageBac and communicating with their teachers to ensure that they know what their assessment entails in each subject.
为了准备好迎考，同学们记得要查看ManageBac上的资源并积极与老师沟通，确保充分了解每门科目的评估内容。
Following on from assessments, reports will come out on the last day of the semester, December 19th. These end of semester reports will include comments from the subject teachers to share how each student is progressing in their learning.

As we approach the long weekend and our DSE Grade 12 students move closer to their crucial examinations, our focus is on ensuring the boarding house provides a solid and supportive foundation. To that end, we recently held a meeting students to discuss how we can best enhance their living environment during this important period. It was a fantastic and valuable exercise in student voice and agency, allowing them to contribute directly to making our boarding community stronger.
随着长周末临近，DSE十二年级同学也即将迎来关键考试。我们致力于让寄宿楼成为他们坚实而温暖的后盾。为此，我们近期召开了一次学生座谈会，共同探讨如何在这一重要阶段优化他们的居住环境。这次会议充分展现了学生声音与自主的力量，也让同学们直接为打造更强的寄宿社区建言献策。
The students shared many wonderful and thoughtful suggestions. Please know that we are currently reviewing these ideas with great care.
