Next week, parents of our new language learners in English will receive reports on how students performed on our WIDA testing. As with many international schools around the world, we have a language rich population, with a high number of new language learners in English. To support our students, we actively assess our language learning students using the WIDA framework.
My name is Janet He, and I am a graduate of the UISZ DSE program for the Class of 2025. I am also a candidate for this year's Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination. I chose to take the HKDSE program because I hold a Hong Kong identity card, which allows me to apply to universities in Hong Kong through the JUPAS system. Compared to other international programs, the DSE provides me with a more direct and strategic pathway for further education, especially aimed at my goal of studying in Hong Kong.
