We want to thank all parents who attended the UPAZ meeting and Spring Performance this Friday. Thank you for the fruitful conversation and for enjoying a memorable performance from our students. It kicks start the end of the school year and provides a great indicator on what the 2023-2024 will look like. THANK YOU!

ECA end Thursday June 9:
Please note that the Extracurricular Activities programme will end this coming Thursday, June 9. Effective Friday, June 10, all buses will depart school at 3:45 pm. We want to thank all participants who overwhelmingly engaged in this added activity over the year! We are looking forward to an improved programme in 2023-2024.

As school ends and secondary students take on their summative exams, it is essential to maintain a balance life and engage in activities other than academics. We strongly encourage our students to take full advantage of this programme, especially next week.
随着课程的结束，同时中学部的同学们开始进行总结性测评，保持平衡的生活和参与学术以外的活动是至关重要的。我们倡议同学们充分利用这个项目，特别是下周。

Please note that the last day of school is June 16. Students will have an early lunch at 11 and buses will depart at 12, off to a restful summer.

Online Counselling:
We are pleased to inform that all secondary students were introduced to Ms Lucy Lau, our Whole School Counselor during their house period last Wednesday. This is a kind reminder that students can meet the counselor online from Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This service is available until June 16. Ms Lindsey Walsh will be our new onsite Counselor from the beginning of the school year 2023.

UISZ was very proud to present the annual Spring Musical Performance: Pirates vs Mermaids! Ms. Lyudmila has spent the past 2 months working with zaPrimary and Secondary students to put together the show. This musical comedy was a huge success and a wonderful celebration of creativity and courage!

In year 6 science class, students focused on two main objectives: designing experiments, testing hypotheses, and evaluating results. They conducted an experiment to test the strength of an egg, brainstorming and devising their own testing ideas. The class was filled with enthusiasm as they executed the experiment and had fun throughout the process. Students measured variables such as drop height, impact force, and egg damage. They evaluated and analyzed the results, drawing conclusions and reinforcing their understanding of the scientific method. The hands-on approach fostered curiosity and a sense of discovery. Overall, the year 6 science class provided an engaging environment for students to practice essential inquiry skills while enjoying the excitement of scientific exploration.

In the unit of the modernization of Japan 1900-1945, , Students assessed the extent to which Japan was modernized in the early 20th century in the light of the contemporary political, social, economic and cultural conditions. They analyzed the ways in which such conditions led to the rise of militarism and assess its consequences for Japan and Asia.
Students can trace and explain Japan’s economic recovery and growth as well as political and social developments in the post-World War II period. They will also cite examples to illustrate both change and continuity in Japan’s political, economic, and cultural relations with other Asian countries.
在1900-1945 日本现代化的单元中，根据当代政治、社会、经济和文化条件，同学们可以了解日本在20 世纪初的现代化程度。他们分析了这种情况导致军国主义兴起的方式，并评估其对日本和亚洲的影响。
