(2025.11.13)Alumni Visit

Anna Oh 和 Claire Yoo

On November 13th, our Grade 11 and 12 students were treated to a fantastic dose of inspiration and practical advice, straight from the source! We were thrilled to welcome back two brilliant members of the Class of 2025, Anna Oh 和 Claire Yoo, who have seamlessly transitioned to their exciting new university chapters.
To provide the most relevant and targeted guidance, we held separate panel discussions, recognizing that the experiences and concerns of our DP1 and DP2 students are wonderfully unique.
1
A Roadmap for the DP Journey
For our Grade 11 (DP1) students, our alumni shared their personal “survival guide” for the Diploma Programme. They spoke about time management strategies, the importance of finding a balance, and how to build a solid foundation for the challenging and rewarding years ahead.

For our Grade 12 (DP2) students deep in the university application process, the conversation was a goldmine of tips. Anna and Claire demystified the application journey, offering honest advice on writing personal statements, meeting deadlines, and managing the stress that can sometimes accompany this important stage.
2
A Glimpse into the Future: University Life
The conversation then shifted to the future, painting a vibrant picture of life after high school. Anna, who is now delving into the fascinating world of Law and International Relations at the University of Toronto, and Claire, who is pursuing her passion for Chemistry & Biotechnology at a prestigious Korean university, shared what independence truly looks like.

They talked about the excitement of forging new friendships, the freedom to explore specialized academic interests, and the growth that comes from navigating life on your own terms.
3
The Heart of High School: What We Truly Miss
One of the most touching moments came when the alumni were asked what they unexpectedly missed about their high school days. Of course, the lively lunchtimes and the cherished friendships were at the top of the list. But they also highlighted something profoundly important: the supportive teachers. Both Anna and Claire emphasized that our teachers are an incredible resource, offering guidance and encouragement that extends far beyond the classroom. Their message to current students was clear: don’t hesitate to rely on your teachers; they are here to help you succeed and are one of the greatest assets of our school community.
4
A Vibrant and Engaged Community
It was wonderful to see our G11 and G12 students so engaged, asking thoughtful questions and soaking up the wisdom from their peers who were in their shoes just a year ago. Alumni talks like these are a powerful reminder of the strong community we build at Utahloy. They provide a perfect platform for our graduates to give back, sharing their experiences and hard-earned wisdom to light the way for the next generation.

This event highlights the active and supportive network of our Utahloy Alumni Association. We encourage all our graduates to stay connected and feel free to join the association to be a part of this continuing story of support and success.

A huge thank you to Anna and Claire for their generosity and for inspiring our current students. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see the paths our students will forge!

Alumni Visit

Anna Oh 和 Claire Yoo
