September 26, 2025: Typhoon Resilience, WWW Success & Happy Mid-Autumn Festival
Dear UISG Community,
As we approach the holiday break, I extend my sincere gratitude for your patience and resilience during the recent typhoon. Your cooperation helped keep our community safe and strong.
I am also delighted to share that our Grade 11 students had an enriching Week Without Walls experience in Beijing, exploring the city’s history and culture while embodying our spirit of adventure.
This season, we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival—a time of gratitude, family reunion, and hope. Traditions such as admiring the moon, sharing mooncakes, and lighting lanterns reflect themes of unity and prosperity, beautifully complementing the National Day holiday.
On behalf of UISG, I wish you a joyful, safe, and relaxing celebration with your loved ones. May your holiday be filled with warmth, delicious food, and bright moments.

Chantelle Parsons | Primary Principal 小学校长
Dear UNC, EY and Primary Families,
Another eventful week, but this time a little different. I’d like to thank everyone for responding so quickly to changes and school closures this week. Within 20 minutes on Monday evening, the whole community had been notified of school closure and contingencies set up. That’s super efficient, and I appreciate everyone pulling together and communicating for the safety of everyone.
Reading Competition
The library have a wonderful competition happening over the holiday and I can’t wait to see the photos that are submitted…I’m already planning my photo…

Similar to how we had a CIS team visit UISG last year and support the growth of our school, I will be heading to Korea for a week to support the growth of an international school there. Not only is this a great process for the school but also for UISG as I can learn from another IB school and bring back some ideas.
I will still be contactable via email but may not be as responsive as usual.
If you have anything urgent, please feel free to contact Dan (superintendent@uisgz.org), Amy (PYPCoordinator@uisgz.org) or Jai (EYCoordinator@uisgz.org).

Jai (EYCoordinator@uisgz.org).

October 13 – 17 (Week 8A)
Although it was a weather-affected week for us in Guangzhou, the Grade 11 Camp in Beijing was sun-filled and action-packed. As well as the cultural and historical experiences, students also took part in some service-learning activities. The other Grade level Camps are being re-scheduled to the second Semester. More details when the dates are finalised.

MAP data for Grades 6-11
The MAP data from the recent MAP tests can be found for each student in their Portfolio section on Managebac. Students have had one been working in homeroom on their growth and goals, looking at specific actions they can take towards achieving those goals. Please do talk to your children about the actions that are going to put in place.
One of the best ways for students to improve their reading levels is to spend some time reading every day. To encourage them to do this, we have a “Seen Reading photo contest”
