Year 9 Visual Arts. ART102.
The unit’s statement of inquiry is aesthetic (beauty) can be achieved with the consideration of composition and genre influence from arts across time and space. Each student created finished artwork which applied and developed a selected skills and technique which they acquired this semester, either Chinese painting, watercolor painting, constructed sculpture, or Canva. The works should be influenced creatively by 2(two) contrasting art style or movements. The composition should explore shape, balance, and color. Student should also explore imageries, symbols, and ideas from a key concept they selected.
















Year 8U & 8S Visual Arts. Basic Skills & Visual Understanding
The unit began with an investigation of morphing. discussion of several factual, disputable, and conceptual issues follows. We looked at various historical examples of morphing, ranging from that of Hieronymus Bosch to those seen in well-known books for children. The students then decided on the two animals they wanted to morph. They next produced a storyboarding that included at least six frames. Prior to developing their ideas, the students experimented with a variety of media, including watercolor, alcohol markers, ink, oil pastels, and others. Students investigated the prospect of creating mixed-media paintings as well.
