11 月 10 日,我们的小学生参加了第一学期的母语大会,度过了一段激动人心的时光。
Our Korean- and Japanese-speaking students from Y1 – Y6 gathered in the MFH and enjoyed activities and games. Collaborating with peers across the year levels our younger and older students had great fun and the air buzzed with laughter and joy.

Japanese-speaking students of Y9 planned and ran four activities for the primary students. This contributed to the Y9’s learning and activities of the Service as Action curriculum. The primary children teamed up into 4 groups of mixed year levels. They played “drop the handkerchief”, “tail tag”, “gesture game” and “rock, paper, scissors relay”. The games were a great success and primary students visibly enjoyed the competitions. Older and younger students worked and celebrated together. The Japanese assembly was led by our primary teacher Ms. Naoko Yamaguchi.
Our primary school Korean-speaking students started their assembly with a game of “zool” in which all of them participated and each team was led by a volunteer from Y6. After the game, the teams rotated between 5 different activities, which were designed and conducted by Y5, Y6 and secondary school students as part of their Service as Action curriculum. The activities included “magic chairs”, “mountain and valley”, “mugunghwa blossom”, “paper cup stacking” and “face painting the Taegeukgi”. The Korean language assembly was led by our primary teachers Ms. Agatha Kim and Ms. Kathy Kim.

My special thanks go out to all primary and secondary students who volunteered to design and run activities on that afternoon. You all did a fantastic job and really showed what amazing members of our school community you are.
