Dear UISG Community,
Get ready for an exciting week ahead! Our calendar is full of events that show the amazing talents and hard work of our students.
Let’s start by cheering for our athletes and scholars. We wish the best of luck to our ACAMIS Cross Country team competing in Chengdu from the 13th to the 15th. Let’s also support our students at the ACAMIS Math Olympiad in Hong Kong and our U11 swimmers at their meet on the 11th in Hong Kong.
On campus, we have wonderful performances to enjoy. Our Middle School students will present their Grade 7 theater show on the 11th and Grade 8 theater show on the 12th. We will also celebrate our youngest learners at the K3 Korean Celebration on the 14th.
For parents, we have several helpful events. On the 13th, you are invited to our PYP Open Morning to see our primary classes in action. Later that morning, we offer Parent Power-Up sessions on important topics like online safety and English language learning support.
We are also hosting an Open Day for new families on the 12th. Please feel free to share this news with friends who might be interested in joining our school community.
It’s going to be a wonderful week of celebration and community. Thank you for your continued support. Together, we make UISG a great place for children to learn and grow.

我们为家长准备了多场活动：13日诚邀您参加PYP上午开放日，亲身体验小学课堂魅力；当天上午还将举办家长赋能工作坊，聚焦网络安全与英语学习支持等关键议题。

I’m always amazed by the talent shown by our students. Yesterday’s talent show had so many amazing acts, even more than last year! I HUGE Congratulations to all the acts and a BIG Thank You to Ms Jessie and Ms Shannon for all their organisation.

We had fun having photos taken this week, your child should have a unique QR code (don’t worry if they’ve lost it, just reach out to marketing and admissions for a new one), for you to scan and connect with the photographer to view the photos and select a package for purchase.
NEW EVENT PYP Open Morning – Thursday 13th November
Many of you have been asking what learning experiences in UISG look like, well now is your chance to find out. We are inviting all our parents to spend the morning in the classroom with their child(ren), come and experience a specialist class and the homeroom on Thursday 13th November, 8:15 – 9:55am. This will be followed by a Parent Power-Up, with 3 (yes 3!) to choose from! See below for more details.
* Grade 4 and 5 Parents, come in your gym gear, you get to experience a PE class, and yes, you will be joining in 😊
Grade 1 – 5 Sports Day, ECA Fair & Family Picnic – Wednesday 19th November
It was so good last year, we just had to do it again this year!
Save the date for the 19th November, Primary Sports Day is BACK and it’s bigger and better than before.
And of course…Don’t forget your picnic blankets, yummy foods, and a family member or two to share a yummy picnic for lunch.

学生领导力
We have a newly elected Student President and Vice President, pictured above. They will be setting out their goals and agenda for 2025-26, and will work with the other newly elected members of the Student Council to build on the successes of the outgoing President Finn, and Vice President Toby.
Other student leadership positions are also evident throughout the Secondary school. There are student leaders for the school newspaper (The Howl), the Utahloy Development Bank, the Service Committee, and House Captains. Giving students a chance to take on leadership and develop those skills is one of the key goals we have always had in the Secondary school.
Student Empowerment
One of the key ways to empower others is through providing information so that important decisions can be made in a considered and thoughtful way. We empower our Grade 10-12 students by providing information about universities around the world, and through workshops on lifeskills and college preparation. After the successful University Fair of a few weeks ago, we have also had visits from HKU, from Guelph & Regina University, and a workshop from “Immerse Education”. In a couple of weeks we will also be hosting a visit from Kings College London.
Duke of Edinburgh ‘adventurous journey’
Twenty Grade 9 students are heading out this afternoon for their Duke of Edinburgh ‘adventurous journey’ practice. Camping out and developing campcraft skills, and at the same time making connections with one another, the D of E is a tremendous programme that supports the holistic development of our students.

我们新选出了学生会主席和副主席，见上图 。他们将制定2025 – 2026年的目标和议程，并将与新当选的学生会其他成员一道，继续发扬即将卸任的主席Finn和副主席Toby所取得的成就。
在中学部，其他学生领导职位也随处可见。有校报《The Howl》的学生负责人、誉德莱发展银行的学生负责人、服务委员会的学生负责人以及House队长。让学生有机会担任领导职务并培养这些技能，一直是中学部的关键目标之一。
学生赋权

今天下午，二十名九年级的学生将出发进行爱丁堡公爵奖“探险之旅”的实践。他们将在户外露营，培养野营技能，同时增进彼此之间的联系。爱丁堡公爵奖是一个极好的项目，有助于我们学生的全面发展。

Dear UNC Parents,
To help parents better understand the Casa class and foster our shared support for children’s growth, we plan to open the Casa class the Montessori activities time from December 1st to 9th to parents, parents are welcome to observe; please scan the QR code to select a suitable time. To protect children’s concentration and sense of order during the Montessori works, only one adult is allowed in the classroom at a time. To better help you understand your child, after the observation, the homeroom teacher of the Casa class will arrange a one-on-one meeting with you that afternoon. The one-on-one meetings between Casa parents and oversea teachers will take place in mid-to-late January. Parents of children in the IC class who wish to learn about the Casa class in advance will be given a separate time, thank you for your understanding and support.
To help you better understand how to observe your child, we will be holding workshops before and after the observation events. (To ensure a positive experience for both children and parents, only parents attending the first and second workshops will be allowed to observe. For parents who are unable to attend in person due to special circumstances, we will provide a link to watch the recorded video online, please notice Jill before.)

- November 21st, 2:30-3:30 PM: “Understanding the social behavior of children aged 3-6 and the role of adult support”

为了让家长们更好的了解Casa班的状态，更好地促进我们一起合作支持孩子们的成长！我们计划在12月1日至9日期间向家长开放Casa班的蒙氏工作时间，邀请家长进班观察，请扫码选择适合您的时间。为了保护孩子们工作的专注力和秩序感，每次进班的时段我们只安排一个成人。为了更好地帮助你理解孩子，观察结束后，Casa班的主教老师将在当天下午安排与您的一对一面谈时间。外教与Casa班学生的一对一家长会将会在1月中下旬进行。IC班的家长，如果想提前了解Casa班，我们将另行安排时间，感谢您的理解和支持。
