What another action-packed week it has been on our campus! It has been wonderful to see our students fully settled into their academic routines, bringing energy and focus to their classrooms. The buzz of excitement around the ECA Fairs was fantastic, and we are thrilled to see so many students signed up for a diverse range of activities. These programs are a vital part of a rich and balanced UISG education.
As we look ahead to next week, our community focus shifts to a very special event. This Monday, we kick off our DOT Day activities, a celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot. The festivities will run through Friday, September 12th. We can’t wait to see the incredible creativity our students will unleash!
This past week also underscored the incredible strength of our parent community. A heartfelt thank you to the many parents who joined us for our ‘Parent Power Ups’ sessions last week. Your engagement is crucial in building a strong partnership between home and school.
It was also a pleasure to welcome so many of you to the first ‘UPTA All Parents Meeting’ this morning. Seeing our new and returning families come together for a successful start to the year is truly inspiring.

展望下周，我们将迎来一场特别活动：从本周一起，受彼得·雷诺兹著作《点》启发的国际圆点日活动即将启动。这场持续至9月12日（周五）的庆典将尽情展现创造力、勇气与协作精神，我们已迫不及待想见证学生们迸发的奇思妙想！

It was wonderful to see so many parents in school this week. I hope you got to know more about your child’s homeroom and their teacher. Remember if you have any questions, you can reach out to the teacher or myself anytime.

Parent Volunteers
Want to support the students in our school? Eager to see what learning looks like at UISG? Happy to give a few hours a week to different classes? Well, you have come to the right place…
Here at UISG, we encourage parents to be on campus and be part of the learning. We have made the document attached to this message outlining the purpose, role and requirements of regular parent volunteers. If you are interested in this role, have a read through the document and then contact the primary office to start the process.
We are currently looking for some support in our Mother Tongue classes, Early Years and library. If you have any other special talents or suggestions of how you could help on campus, we’d love to hear them!

August 25 – 29 (Week 3A)
Grade level information sessions – Monday August 25th, 3:40 – 4:45
The Grade level information sessions on Monday August 25th will give you a chance to connect with the homeroom teachers as well as other parents in the same Grade level. The sessions will start at 3:40. Please be there a bit beforehand so that we can start on time. After an opening information session on Secondary school goals and on Secondary Camps, parents will divide up into Grade level meetings to be with the homeroom teachers.
The meetings will finish at 4:40. There will then be time until 5pm if parents want to stay and chat more with other parents or with the homeroom teachers and Secondary leadership.
Student Connections and Team Building
Every week students have extended time with their homeroom, for IB Hour, SEL time, or other activities. This week, Grades 6 and 7 were involved in team-building activities, helping to build student connections.

The Student Council are back up and running for the year and have already started to see how they can make a positive difference to the school by conducting a student survey to see the issues students most care about. They will share the results of that with the Secondary leadership team and together we will work to develop ideas for the year.
