Wednesday was a concert day for our DP Music students, who presented their second recital for the academic year in the UISG Admin Hall.
Building on their Semester 1 recital experience, the three Year 11 pianists presented four pieces between them. From the 19th Century Romanticism of Frédéric Chopin to the 20th Century pieces by Béla Bartók, Christopher Norton and contemporary work of V.K克.
Joining their younger colleagues, a Year 12 pianist was a guest performer, presenting 谭盾Tán Dùn in what would be a final recital before graduation.
Our musicians were supported by an audience including their Group 6 Arts (Theatre, Visual Arts) and Year 12 Chinese classmates and teachers, an attentive Year 5 class, and leadership from across UISG, filling the Admin Hall seats. The large audience witnessed and enjoyed performances which may be added to the student DP Music Presenting portfolios which will be submitted to the IB at the completion of the course.
