Who knew Pandas, Tigers, Dragons and Warriors could swim?
Some viewers may have been skeptical, but they were all proven wrong after witnessing the spectacular aquatic performances at the UISG pool over the past 3 days.
After a restful holiday, Primary students were eager to show off their swimming skills developed in PE lessons. First up on Wednesday, were our smallest Primary students from Years 1 and 2. Students swam with great enthusiasm and effort. After many exciting races, the mighty Tigers emerged victorious by a narrow margin, with 1, 290 points.
Next up on Thursday were the senior Primary students from Years 5 and 6. Some incredible swimming skills were on display from this group. With events including kickboard widths, freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly, it was a very exciting morning. The powerful Dragons prevailed with 1,420 points.
The three-day event culminated on Friday with students from Years 3 and 4. As it was the final day of the Swim Gala, the anticipation for the races was palpable, and the Year 3s and 4s did not disappoint. After many heats of exciting races, the dominant Dragons overcame fierce competition to win the day, with 1680 points.
Well done to all the students who took part in this year’s Swim Gala, and congratulations to the winning houses from each day. The overall winner for the 2022 Primary Swim Gala, with 4040 points, were the Dragons, followed by the Tigers with 4010 points, the Warriors with 3532 points and the Pandas with 2950 points.
