UISZ Sports Program

Utahloy International School Zengcheng has a proud tradition of athletic excellence. Students gain many valued benefits when participating in a sport. Sports builds teamwork and leadership skills that are required for working in the real-world. Students will learn to manage time efficiently balancing schoolwork and practices. Sports promote sportsmanship, commitment, physical activity, and friendships that last a lifetime creating a well-rounded education. 

 

UISZ Sports Program develop sport skills by maximizing participation and focusing on instruction. We aim to develop positive values of athletics, including sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation, and competition. We provide as many students as possible the opportunity to participate in activities they enjoy.

Vision Statement

To become leaders in school sports provision and athletic development within South China, competing in major sports within the Guangdong and international schools’ sports conferences. 

Mission Statement

To provide an inclusive, high-quality sports program and competition calendar for all students at UISZ, at their appropriate level, whilst developing a greater access to international sports tours for both Primary and Secondary School.  

Our commitment to these sports will ensure that our student athletes will be best prepared for all competitive situations, develop a greater understanding of commitment and teamwork and develop a lifelong affiliation with sport. 

Athletic Conferences

UISZ is a proud member of the international Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS)  a founding member of the Guangzhou International School Athletic Conference (GISAC), and founding members of Pearl River Conference (PRC), Dongguan Conference (DGC), Guangzhou International Schools Elementary Sports Association (GISES) and Guangzhou Cup. Students at UISZ have the opportunity to represent the school and develop friendships with other athletes during numerous sporting events throughout the year. 

Elementary School Athletics

Our Elementary School Athletics program provides students in year 2 to 5 the opportunity to participate in age-appropriate practices and competitions. Students begin to learn the necessary fundamental skills, rules, tactics, and strategies specific to each sport. UISZ Athletics Program’s main purpose is to help develop the physical, emotional, and scholastic advancement of the student, as well as, to allow those who are gifted in the different sports to excel.  

 

Lower students participate in at least one or more sports throughout the year. Elementary level sports are designed to help teach our youngest student athletes the fundamentals of sports while focusing on their social, emotional, and academic development.  

UISZ is a founding member of the Pearl River Conference (GISES) with students participating in tournaments each year in addition to hosting a variety of invitational tournaments and scholastic games each year.  

Secondary School Athletics

Our Secondary Athletics program extends and enhances our school’s mission by offering additional opportunities for students to develop their physical, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being.  

 

UISZ sports programs reinforce self-discipline for student-athletes by consistently maintaining rules, standards, and expectations. Students are encouraged to demonstrate appropriate personal pride in how they conduct and present themselves as Cobras.  

 

We support and promote sportsmanship based on our school’s core values. Our athletes and fans are expected to display respect and sportsmanship, in victory and in defeat.
