At UISG,
Ombeline is more than a standout athlete.
She is a 14-year member of the UISG community.
UISG G12

– Ombeline –
A student who has grown up in its classrooms, on its teams, and within its international family. Her siblings share that same UISG story: her brother Rodrigue is a UISG alumnus from the Class of 2025, and her sister Capucine is a current UISG student. Together, they have made the school a home base for a remarkable sporting journey.
/
That journey began unexpectedly.
When COVID-19 paused traditional sport, the three siblings turned to Spartan racing — a punishing mix of running, obstacles, mud, and mental grit. Ombeline finished 6th at the 2022 Spartan Kids World Championships in America. The strength and endurance she built there soon carried her to the mountains.
/
Three years ago, she transitioned to trail running. Since then, she has won the ACAMIS Cross Country championship three years in a row, all while balancing rigorous UISG academics with daily training. Her preparation is meticulous: her brother Rodrigue serves as her running coach, and she also works with a strength coach in France and a nutritionist in America. UISG has offered Ombeline a supportive training environment with access to facilities and a community that genuinely values sport.

Across Asia, Ombeline has been nearly untouchable. She finished 1st Overall Woman at Betong by Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) in Thailand. She also took 1st Overall Woman at the Great Wall Golden Trail World Series. In Hong Kong SAR, she won every race she entered.

Then came Europe. At Val d’Aran by UTMB, she finished 1st U18 and 3rd Overall Woman. At Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB, she was 1st U18 and 4th Overall Woman. Next came Sierre-Zinal — one of trail running’s most legendary races. There, she beat the reigning world No. 1 U18 woman in their first-ever meeting.
/
This summer the crown jewel came in Chamonix, the spiritual home of trail running. At the YCC, Ombeline won 1st Place U18 Women. Days later, she raced again at YCC Revenge — a format that demands rapid recovery and another peak performance. She won again. Back-to-back. Against the world’s best. All at the end of a summer that had already taken her from France to Spain to Switzerland and back.

The rankings confirm the story. On the UTMB Index, she is 3rd in the world, 1st in Asia, 2nd in Europe, and 1st in Belgium. On the ITRA Index, she is 17th in the world, 1st in Asia, and 1st in Belgium. After only three years in the sport, Ombeline has conquered mountains across two continents — with her brother beside her as coach and training partner, her sister following their Spartan path, and her UISG community behind her.

At UISG, our school culture treats elite athletics and academic excellence as complementary — not competing — goals. Join us in celebrating Ombeline’s journey and achievements.
